<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jordan Farmar, L.A. Lakers (UCLA) Dime: How?s the NBA experience been so far? JF: It?s been great. I?m from L.A., so playing at home not much has changed besides where I live. I think in the NBA they treat you a lot better; they take care of you, make sure everything you need is taken care of. I?m a rookie, though, so I still gotta run all the errands ? getting guys bags and stuff. Dime: Have you bought anything big yet? JF: I bought a house and car. The house is in ? you know what, don?t print that. I don?t want people coming up to the crib. (laughs) Dime: What are you most looking forward to as a rookie? JF: Just being able to play in the NBA. Being on a team with the best player in the League, in my opinion, in Kobe Bryant. Having one of the best coaches of all-time in Phil Jackson. I don?t know what?s gonna happen, but when my number gets called, I?ll be ready. I?m looking forward to the whole experience, getting a year under my belt so I can be ready to really contribute. Hopefully I get an opportunity to play. Dime: Do you think you have a chance to start right away? JF:That?s what I feel like. But it could go from barely playing at all to not playing to starting. It?s a wide spectrum for me. I just gotta do my thing and if my opportunity comes, I?ll be ready. Dime: What?s in your CD player right now? JF: Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Trey Songz. A lot of R & B. I got Kanye and Li?l Wayne, too. Dime: You look kinda tired. Long day? JF: It has been a long day, but it?s only one day. It sucks for me because I had to fly all the way across the country ? it was a long flight. I got in (New York) at two in the morning and had to come here early in the morning. But it?s fun, getting to hang out with all the guys and seeing what everybody has to go through. You see the finished product of basketball cards and commercials, but you don?t see how they?re made. Being part of this is an honor. Dime: Are you gonna grab a nap at some point? JF: Not yet (laughs). I?m trying to stay up all day so I can sleep on the plane the whole way back.</div> Source
I like his approach to his role when he was asked whether or not he would be the starting guard. He understands he's capable of it, but has to earn the spot. I'm looking forward to tracking his progress this season.
Cool article. I think J.Farmar will surprise a lot of ppl. I also think Phil will grow to like him and he could get the same amount of minutes that Luke got when he was a rookie!!
lol @ the r 'n b crap he's listening too. Those artists are weak sauce. Nothing's better than some old school Usher....8701 cd to be exact, all this new stuff is weak.
He seems confident, not cocky, but very confident. We really need that, Smush always seems worried or nervous. I think that he'll be able to take the tough criticism from Kobe and Phil when he makes a mistake and make something of it.
