As we all know, Alexander is having a monster season. There is quite a bit of speculation here in Viking-land that the Vikes are going to go after Alexander extremely aggressively. I have heard a lot of people say that Seattle won't let him go, but I don't know if they can have him back.

Am I remembering things correctly, didn't Seattle burn the bridge a little bit by continually franchising him rather than giving him a long-term contract? I also am assuming that he's an unrestricted free agent.

With that in mind, do you guys think its possible for Alexander to sign with a different team? I want to know just how hopeful I should be - the Vikes are 20 - 25 mil under the cap, so they would have room for a major acquisition like Alexander.

They only tagged him once. However, they put in that deal that they would not tag him again. so he is UFA, but there is an exclusive negotiating period they will have to sign him

I think that Shaun Alexander would be a great short term anwser. Sign for no more than 3 or 4 years. I would rather try to pick a back up in the draft. I like to look long term.

I hope the panthers sign him. Stephen Davis if he retires is gonna give us lots of cap space, so we could be able to give him a good contract

Seattle has to resign Alexander. They have a real shot at being strong for years to come. Mostly because of Alexander and the divsion.
