Do you think the Kings are now underrated based on last season's troubles? Now obviously I don't mean to say the Kings are going to the finals, but i do think they're going to do a lot better than a lot of people are expecting them to do. that's just my opinion.
I think people are inevitably going to compare them to the Kings in the early 2000's when they were contenders year after year and had so much regular season success, so that raises people's expectations a lot. The Kings are underrated, but at the same time I don't think that with the current team that they have they'll be getting farther than the first round. If you think about it, they didn't get that much better. Their best acquisition at the moment is John Salmons, who is probably only a fringe starter.
I actually like the kings very much. They have a very good core in Artest,Bibby and Miller, they have solid role players and we all saw what a damage they could do to a top-team like the Spurs(I still believe that the Spurs would've been the champ if Sacramento hadn't pushed them to 6 games). They're not the favorites in their conference of course, Phoenix is, but I can see them get a 5th seed, where they'll probably match up against the number 1 of the northwest divison. If they advance past the first round, I can see them give one of the top teams a big scare.
The Kings are very underratted. I think Bibby is a great player and so is Artest. I think the Kings will make the playoffs this year.
