Considering the team's horrendous play last season and soap opera-like off-season, that's probably a good thing.

"It's a new year," Robinson said. "We have more hunger, more drive. We weren't happy with what happened last year."

"The way last season went was a disappointment," Robinson said. "We all knew we were better than that."

During the off-season coach Larry Brown, who called the Knicks his "dream job" after being hired in 2005, was fired. Knicks president Isiah Thomas, who's been criticized for putting together a noncompetitive team, has taken over the coaching duties. </div>

Robinson Working On Being More Than Just A Guy Off Bench

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Nate Robinson is excited about the upcoming season, even if he will be primarily coming off the bench.

"I think we need to bring some excitement back to the Garden, and I can help with that," Robinson said. "Right now my job is to provide a spark off the bench and be an energy guy, but I'm working hard to be more than that." </div>
