<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kenny Anderson last played in the NBA for the Clippers during the 2004-2005 season and after playing in Lithuania last year, he wants to return to an NBA roster.

``Sometimes I'm like, `Maybe I've played enough,' " said Anderson. ``Then, there's days when I work out and I want that team environment.

``I just need that opportunity. I'm in shape. I haven't had any major injuries. I'm young, only 35. I didn't want to retire at 34 or 35. I've still got that hunger. I want to be 100 percent sure that I can't help a team when I finish, and I'm not there yet.

``I don't know why I'm not getting a harder look. I think everybody knows I know how to run a team. I'm not going to be a cancer on a team. I've always been a good leader. Why doesn't somebody say, `Hey, why not bring Kenny into camp?'"</div>

I laughed when I read the title.....when I was younger I used to think that the D.C. and Kenny Anderson combo was going to be around for many years to come....D.C. got fat so that pretty much put an end to that notion....Kenny is to old to contribute.

He shouldn't have retired that early. But if he feels he can contribute, then welcome back to the NBA. Imo, i dont think he will be effective. He had a great year btw, going to allstar game, avergaing 12 ppg, and avergaing 6 assists.

It just loooks like more on his profile because of how much he's been traded. Well....now that I think about it, 13 is quite a bit. However, if you're a good player, that's barely even an average length for a career.

Isn't he like 41 years old or something like not, and he is probably not in great shape like Karl Malone was. So unless he wants to pull a gary payton & alonzo and join the heat in hopes to win a ring or even a darrell armstrong with dallas, I don't think many teams are going to take a chance with him. Than again payton & alonzo still had some game, but we havent seen this guy play in yrs.

And actually, he was in the NBA during the '04-'05 season, so it's not like he's been gone for forever.

Ok, my fault I didn't see that and didn't know he played in the 04-05 season but that is still a long time to be away from the NBA and actually running up & down the court, against other pgs. just as fast and even faster. I mean the part where he says, "I don't know why I'm not getting a harder look. I think everybody knows I know how to run a team...." sounds like he thinks he should be a starting pg. But what I'm saying is unless he wants to ride the bench like darell armstrong did in DAL or be a small very small contributor to a team, I don't see any NBA teams willing to bring him back.

From what I can remember, the guy used to be a great playmaker and a great defensive player. The only way I see a team wanting to sign him is to mentor a young point guard. Like kobe24girl said, he will most likely play a Darrel Armstrong role

While it may not be NBA, there are still a lot of really good players overseas. Just because you don't know them, doesn't mean they're not good.

He does know how to run an NBA team. He did it for 13 years. Just cause you're away from the league for a year doesn't mean you forget how to play in it. And I'm sure there are plenty of teams that do need a backup PG, even if it is for just a DA type of role. Regardless of what kind of role he is, he could still produce, even if it's just a few points per game, he could still be a quality backup for a team, even if it is just a few minutes.

That's why I said unless he wants to "be a very small contributor to a team". I'm not saying that he can't come back at all, but to me it sounds like he wants to be a starter and be depended on. I don't know maybe it's just me. And if that is so, I know that there are a lot of good guards overseas, but can you really compare them to steve nash, j.kidd, cp3, tony parker, j. williams, and other good pgs. that he will have to face each and every night.

Now, once again I do think that he can be a small contributor or back-up, And he had a very successful career, but there is a reason why he is not overwhelmed with invitations from NBA teams.
