I like this idea. Right now there is a rumor that Miami might go after McNair. Culpepper as well but I believe McNair is more likely. Signing McNair to start for a year and maybe drafting Cutler to groom him behind McNair might a smart move. Plus with McNair who I still think can play in this league Miami could take that next step and be a wild card.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (vikingfan)</div><div class='quotemain'>How would Miami get Culpepper?</div> I heard on the Dan Patrick Show on the radio that Miami could package their first rounder and a 2nd along with maybe Ricky Williams for Culpepper.. Just pure rumor. Culpepper being traded from Minnesota has been a hot topic since November.
If miami did get a QB they would be a team to be reckoned with. They have 3 good recievers and one great TE, and a young and very talented RB
McNair & Culpepper to Miami are old rumors and won't happen. What might happen is Kerry Collins to the 'phins as Oakland is approximately 20 million over the cap. KC is ideal for Linehan's system and would be improvement over Frerrote IMO.
Have folks forgotten how serious of a knee injury Donte Culpepper suffered this year? I like Culpepper, but he's not worth a 1st round draft choice until he can show that he still play football.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Hawk)</div><div class='quotemain'>Why would the 'phins want Steve McNair? He's just an old, average QB.</div> That's a good question. I haven't heard that rumor yet though.

Someone to have for a year to groom behind him.

Oh don't get me wrong I don't think they will and very well because of the knee but it's always fun to talk about stuff happening like this. I actually think McNair to Miami is a possibility.
I think Steve McNair would cost too much money and he's starting to break down from the pounding that he has taken from the Titans. I would rather go with Frerotte one more year while we groom a young QB rather than tie up a lot of money in a QB that has trouble staying healthy anymore. No more quick fixes. That's what got the Dolphins in trouble in the first place. Doesn't anyone remember the 2nd rounder that we gave up for A.J. Feeley?
McNair is probably going to stay with the Titians because he has one or two more seasons before he retires. No other team is going to want to spend a whole bunch of money for one or two seasons.
There is no way Culpepper is leaving MN for Miami. The reason I believe this is because he just sign huge contract this year and it would be a huge hit to the Vikings salary cap. I still think that we could still get Ricky Williams without having to give up Culpepper.
