Chris Bosh. What an unlikely hero. After sitting on the bench for most of the tournament, Bosh has come through in a big way since he cracked the rotation two games ago. Bosh's activity and defense made a huge difference as the U.S. was forced to grind it out against the pesky German team.

He entered the game in the first quarter, immediately grabbed a couple of offensive rebounds and played energetic defense around the basket. His numbers by the end of the game weren't spectacular ? 10 points, 7 rebounds and a block ? but his play epitomized the United States' overall effort on a night when shots weren't falling. Bosh also did a great job on Nowitzki, as he, Shane Battier and LeBron James took turns on the Mavericks' star. </div>

Looks like he really wasn't kidding when he said he was going to make it hard for the coaches not to play him, a few days ago. What's most encouraging is that he's understanding that he has to focus on the little aspects to make an impact in this tournament. Felt good to hear him praised for his defense too.

Thanks for posting that up Chutney. He's doing all the little things for the team. It's always good to hear that he's utilizing his playing time and doing the most out of what little PT he gets.

Glad to see Bosh hold his own defensively against a guy like Nowitzki. I think that Bosh's only weakness at the moment is his defence, so I'm glad that he's taking that extra step to become a better defender.

i'm glad he's had to focus on the little things to earn his playing time on the squad. He's really had to put more effort on defense and rebounding.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Paul produced three steals, the U.S. forced 24 turnovers (up from its average of 19), and Chris Bosh, once again, was an end-to-end force that opponents could not counter. Finishing with 10 points, seven rebounds and a block in just 14 minutes, Bosh managed to change shots on defense and bother the German team with his significant wingspan.

Chris' confidence is growing with each game, which should be tremendous news to Coach K, who will need a weak-side shot-blocker against the other semifinalists, who play exceptionally well without the ball.</div>

hhmmm, I wouldn't really call it "unsung" when one of the espn commentators kept showering him w/ praises everytime he did something good.... Nevertheless, it was still a great performance from Bosh. And he would be putting up much better stats if they'd run a few plays for him from time to time.

Big men aren't getting much PT so far,
in the Greece game, Bosh had 5 minutes, D. Howard had 13, Brand had 12, Brad Miller had 0.

Bosh the most underatted player on team USA. Isn't Bosh supposed to be playing for team Canada?

Yeah, because everyone who plays for Toronto has to play for Team Canada.

I wouldn't call him underrated for stinking up most of the tournament and then doing well towards the end.

And Bosh isn't "supposed" to play for Team Canada because he was born in the US, thus he is playing for Team USA.

If things were the way you assumed, at one point Vince Carter, Tracy Mcgrady and Dell Curry would have been playing for the 2000 Canadian team [IMG]
