So I just watched Team USA get beat by Greece.... Greece? Do they even play basketball over there? Seriously Kobe needs to play why wasnt he on the team? Would he have made a difference?

Sorry guys, but that is the level of basketball in Europe just now. If you are arrogant and ignorant towrds other countries you will get punished in coming tournaments too. Greece totally overplayed you today with intelligent basketball. It was so good to watch. Basketball A & O. Smarts vs athletics!

The team is young and was together for three weeks. They'd play better with more experience. Oh well.

I agree FIBA rules are somewhat different but that difference is too marginal to explain those losses with that...and it is not like team USA haven't been playing with FIBA rules over the past tournaments. Those first Tream Teams, they didn't mind the rules, they dominated, they were selfconfident and even then they respected every opponent!! But recent USA teams are too arrogant and narrow minded....you have to respect the other team to motivate yourself 100%...and it is clear now that under 100% effort equals a loss even to Team USA. I feel sorry for coach K, I think he is awesome coach (same goas for D'Antoni and Nate) but the players lost this game for him today.
ND you have to see that even if you invented the game, it is not your game anymore!!! [IMG]

Fiba rules are only amateur rules... thats why hinrich was given 2 unsportsmanlike fouls... and yeah they'd win if kobe were there with his jumpers from everywhere

Why you call FIBA rules amateur rules [IMG]
I'm a basketball referee myself and I think there are many things that are better than NBA rules. Especcially those zone rules. USA players are in my opinion too one dimensional...1vs1 they are incredible and athletic...but they lack passing game, team play and team defence...medicore european teams plays better team defence than Team USA....and that is because they just are not used to this. Fiba rules gives a coach more tactical flexibility and the players have to be smarter to succeed.
Also Hinrich got only 1 unsportmanlike foul (against that black dude) and that was totally right call....every foul that you commit behind the player who is going towards basket and you don't intend to play ball it is 2 shots + ball.
And also, kobe23, how much have you watched european basketball? I think you haven't at all and you just loudmouth after bitter loss.

Wake up call for the USA. Thats all I can say. Lebron, Melo, and Wade on the same team and they still could not come up with the GOLD.

International teams are no longer afraid of TEAM USA. I also agree that TEAM USA have not worked together enough to beat these Euro teams that have been playing together for years.

I agree, NBA players are too one dimensional. If they were more open to a team game we would be unstoppable.

I don't exactly know FIBA rules compared to NBA rules, does anyone have a link or can someone explain them to me?

Yeah, everybody, listen to this guy, he really knows what he is talking about. Sure, he has no credibility at all, and probably doesn't know **** about basketball, but still.

Oh, and in case you fanatics didn't notice, Kobe is human and not a basketball god.

Kobe definitely would have helped but IMO the biggest problem was that they need to give the ball to the big men more. It's a huge loss not having a Duncan or Shaq in there but they still had Bosh who is a great scorer but never gave him the damn ball. When you base your whole gameplan around guards getting steals you're going to get f'ed up when you come across a team who doesn't turn the ball over.

Give the ****ing ball to the big man and get the **** out of the way.
