A new coach is required for Team USA methinks. Reading this David Steele article shows that sports writers are thinking about it. But as soon as I read the match report from the Greek game (half a week before I read Steele's article) I already thought that there were problems with Coach K. But that's another reason why I think they need a more veteran team out there. Lebron, wade & carmelo are great young players and they are probably more mature (basketball wise) than they should be but why didn't one of them suggest this to the coaching staff during the game. I mean I'm sure, with no disrespect to the coach, billups, kobe, or even arenas or bowen would have said, "hey coach, you know they are running a lot of pick N roll why don't we switch up the D with a little zone or something"
They shouldn't even have to go to the coach. They should have enough basketball IQ to realize that their running a pick and roll everyime. Their smart guys, they can count their money, is it really up to the coach to make the changes? I'm about to contradict myself though, Coach K played a very small lineup so the smaller guards (ie Hinrich, Paul) were getting exploited. That's his fault and he should have put bigger players into the game.
