.1 TD .2 Yao .3 Shaq .4 Ben .5 Dwight I don't understand why anyone could put any player besides Tim or Yao as the best five. Shaq proved that he's not as good as TD or Yao with his performance in the playoffs, statistically of course.
Neh, I am just saying that Yao wins (being the best center next year). So who do you think should win?
My top 10 for next year would be, 1. Yao Ming 2. Shaquille Oneal 3. Ben Wallace 4. Dwight Howard 5. Zydrunas Ilgauskas 6 Andrew Bogut 7. Chris Kaman 8. Mehmet Okur 9. Marcus Camby 10. Nenad Krstic

Yao takes the cake. I've criticized him in the past, but after his performance last season it's hard not to respect his game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iggy:</div><div class="quote_post">^^ TD is more of a PF.</div> I think "was" is a better choice of words in this case. He played PF last year when they had Nazr and Rasho. Now with only like Jackie Butler and I think Francisco Elson or something, it indicates that TD will be moved to center. And since this is a "next year" thread, he should be included. Because he's the best candidate for the 5.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">^^ Everyone can agree that shaq is slowing down and yao is growing. so why shaq ahead of yao??</div> Because in his opinion, Shaq will be the best centre next season. How is that so hard to comprehend?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair15:</div><div class="quote_post">Neh, I am just saying that Yao wins (being the best center next year). Also on the people that have Dwight on their lists, why Ben over Dwight? We all know how bad offensively Ben is and that Ben is only a rebounder and defender, but Dwight had a better rebounding season then Ben did last year. So basically Ben is only a better defender, but you have him ahead of Dwight?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Shaq. too big, too strong, too good.</div> Too many krispey kreme donuts. O'Neal is still an effective player, but he's going to barely make the 20-10 mark or maybe be an 18-9 player. He's still an all-star calibre player, but he's hardly what I'd call the best in the league. Steven Hunter gets my vote. Greatest player on the face of the earth next to Roger Mason Jr. Edit: On a more serious note, it's obviously Yao.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iggy:</div><div class="quote_post">Both Jackie and Francisco are centers and were acquired so that Duncan had more help down low and he could play the 4.</div> Yes, that's obviously true, I even said that. But don't you think it's more likely that they're brought in to back up Duncan? I can't see why you would start someone like Jackie Butler or Cisco, but maybe they'll prove me wrong. I honestly haven't seen much of them.
