<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Danilo (J.R.) Pinnock, the 58th pick in the NBA Draft earlier this summer, has signed a contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pinnock, a 6-foot-5 guard who entered the draft following his junior year at George Washington, was taken by the Dallas Mavericks before being traded to the Lakers for a 2007 second-round draft choice.

Pinnock averaged 14.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.5 steals for George Washington last season. He then played for the Lakers in the Summer Pro League and averaged 10.6 points and 2.3 assists in 24.5 minutes.

    Terms were not announced.

    </div>

Good signing by the Lakers. Pinnock is very young, and I think he may have the potential to turn into a solid player one day in the league. Just one question. With the signing of Pinnock, does that mean we released someone from our roster? If I remember correctly, we have 15 players signed

Lol, I wish we had Gerald Green. Good signing, wonder who we released. Did we release Von Wafer yet?

Mckie and Devin are the two guys on the hot seat IMO. One will have to go, and Im guessing it's Devin since Mckie can provide some leadership on our team

My bet was that Devin Green is gone. However, I like hte signing, and was hoping he'd get signed this entire offseason. I just wish it was McKie that was gone...

With Smush playing point, Farmar and Vujacic as back ups, I don't see why we need Mckie. We have the leadership in Kobe.

I think McKie could be trade bait at some point during the season with his expiring contract. I think he might also be being kept around as a mentor to our young guys, along with Kobe Bryant.

    Yes'm, I love this.

Pinnock is going to be one hell of a role player for us if he can develop right.

[IMG] He has to go. I don't even know his name. All this time I thought we had Gerald Green. But we picked Prince Andrew instead.

I disagree, Devin Green gives us another athlete on the roster and a player with a high basketball IQ. He looked great in the SPL and improved his mid range jumper. I like the upside of Green, Pinnock, and Evans for our team this season.

Hopefully Laron Profit is also healthy enough to rejoin the Lakers for this upcoming season.

The three players I don't want to see on the roster next season are McKie, Sasha, and Wafer.

McKie - He's on his last legs at this point in his career. He's struggled to grasp the offense and the Lakers are better off giving his minutes to develop one of their younger prospects. His $2.5M expiring contract should attract a suitor. The Lakers and Bobcats would be ideal trading partners, because Charlotte still needs to spend $9M just to be at the salary minimum for this season. They can take McKie's contract and simply waive him or trade him later on in the year for a team trying to get under the cap.

Sasha - He had his moments last season, but in the big picture I don't see Sasha ever becoming a key contributor for the Lakers. He can't compete physically at the Guard or Forward position and his shooting is too inconsistent.

Wafer - Very athletic, but a terrible fit for this team. Wafer belongs on an uptempo team because he's lost in halfcourt sets. He's fallen in love with his 3point shooting instead of taking it down the lane and hammering it on people.

With the signing of Pinnock, I think a deal is in place for Mihm, Cook, and Mckie to bolt out of La La Land.

Get rid of Kwame Brown. Trade that sorry piece of crap. Aaron McKie is good for 2minutes off the bench and giving Gatorade to Kobe when he scores 60 lol

How can you say that. Kwame played great during the playoffs for our Laker team.
