    UPDATED: September 5, 2006 - 6:34 p.m.

fantasy report With the calendar turning to September, we're less than one month away from the starting of NBA training camps, a little over a month away from the Bobcats first preseason game -- 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10 against Orlando at Charlotte Bobcats Arena (shameless plug) -- and just under two months away from the regular season opener at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1 against Indiana.

So what does all this mean?

It's never too early to start thinking about your fantasy basketball squad, and this year's Bobcats team could have a handful of players who could make an impact on your fantasy team, starting with G-Force himself, Gerald Wallace. G-Force has improved every season since joining the Bobcats via the Charlotte Expansion Selection two seasons ago. He's posted back-to-back years with career numbers in Charlotte, highlighted by averages of 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.51 steals, 2.09 blocks, 1.7 assists and 34.5 minutes in 2005-06. He ranked first in the NBA in steals, fourth in field goal percentage (.538) and 11th in blocked shots.

    Not impressive enough for you?

Wallace was also the only player in the NBA, and the first in 14 years, to average more than 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals in a season, joining future Hall of Famers David Robinson and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players to ever accomplish the feat.

Wallace is a true six-tool player who will probably slide a bit on draft day simply because he's often overlooked outside of Charlotte, but if you can still get him late in the third or early in the fourth round on draft day, you won't be disappointed. </div>
