He has stated many times that he wants to give Kobe some time at the 3 spot.

If we play Lamar at the 2 and keep messing around the lineup, then there's bound to be confusion. I think Lamar is a perfect for the 4 espcially after watching him elevate his game in the playoffs last season. I agree Kobe will be posting up more and will draw double teams which will leave Vlad and co. to stroke it from the arc.
I completely agree with you. I think it's because that Kobe defends so many 3's, like Artest and Tmac, that he wants Kobe to bulk up a little. I know it was being talked about last year that Kobe might play some 3 this year. Either way, we're going to see a lot of driving and post play from him this year, ala LeBron James. I love Vlad at the 3, as well. Once Kobe starts drawin' double teams down low, Vlad will be open all the time.
I just want this season to get started. Kobe is going to have a even better season than the last. I can feel it.

You know, i actually have a feeling Kobe will drop atleast one 60 point game and a few 50 point games throughout the season. But I agree, he's probably going to have a better all-around season and better defensive season as well. I expect something like 33-6.5-6.5 along with nearly 2 steals and a block (especially since he;s bulked to probably around 230.

Now that Kobe has bulked up and is going to play more SF. He is going to put up SF numbers, less scoring more other things. I expect Kobe to shoot 46% FG, 69.9 % on FTs, 30.8% on 3s, 8 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.5 spg, 3.2 bpg, and 15.3 ppg.

Man, Kobe is jacked up. That's going to be interesting to watch Kobe playing at SF, he could be doing a lot better this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting authentiq:</div><div class="quote_post">How the hell does he do it so quickly...it's freaky.</div> HES IN ON THE BALCO EXPERIMENT! I KNEW IT
I dont really see what the big shock is? he hurt his knee so he's likely focussing more on his upper body, its pretty natural for an athlete to work on their upper boddy when they have a leg or knee injury its not really out of the ordinary. I dont think its really part of any grand scheme to bulk up for the season.
If the officials call games the same way they did last season, I expect PJax and Tex Winters to design the offense to attack the rim more. Last season they wanted Kobe to focus on his conditioning, because he was going to need the energy to carry this team. With the cohesion during the last two months, Kobe no longer has to shoulder as much responsibility and can get back to playing more in the post. With Kobe and Odom in the post a lot more next season, we're going to see a more traditional version of the Triangle offense. Remember the way the Bulls ran it with Pippen and Jordan. In those sets, Jordan played on the elbows, Pip up top, and Horace Grant spacing the floor on the sidelines. With Kobe, Odom and Vlad, the Lakers have more flexibility in the offense and we'll see Kobe and Odom alternating within the Triangle depending on matchups.
KOBE LOOKS SEXY!!!!!!!!!! Ha! Ha! But seriously, I really hope he plays more in the post b/c he always kills down low with his foot work. He always finds ways to get to the basket or the free-throw line that way. Plus with rad-man outside the three-point line, he will have a blasts with all of the open shots!!
