Can Anyone Please Verify In Any Way Who Has Hit More Gamewinning (buzzer Beaters) Last Second Shots In Their Caerer Micheal Jordan Or Kobe Bryant. Before You Say Jordan, Think About It. Also If Thie Can Be Verified In Any Way I Would Greatly Appreciate It
Does getting fouled in the last second hitting and the hitting the go-ahead free throws count? Because I know Jordan did that many times.
I found this cached page in a google search. The first post says, as of 3/9/2006, Kobe had 21 career game winners and Jordan had 28. Don't if that's strictly buzzer-beaters or not. Here's the post: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Late-game heroics Throughout much of his career, Kobe Bryant has been heralded as arguably the premier "clutch" scorer in the NBA today. In a sense, this term refers to a player's ability to take over and lead his team to victory under pressure during tight games, notably at the end of regulation or in overtime periods. Bryant's exceptional ability to will his team to victory in the last seconds of the game has been compared to the legendary Michael Jordan's capacity to do the same thing. According to an NBA poll directed at general managers throughout the league before the 2005–06 season, Bryant was overwhelmingly voted as the player they would choose to take the last shot during the crucial moments of basketball games. 01/19/98: Lakers 92, Magic 89 02/13/00: Lakers 113, Nets 110 (OT) 05/10/00: Lakers 97, Suns 96 (Western Conference Semifinals) 06/14/00: Lakers 120, Pacers 118 (NBA Finals) 11/16/00: Lakers 112, Kings 110 02/07/01: Lakers 85, Suns 83 01/02/02: Lakers 87, Nuggets 86 02/22/02: Lakers 96, Hornets 94 05/12/02: Lakers 87, Spurs 85 (Western Conference Semifinals) 12/06/02: Lakers 105, Mavericks 103 04/04/03: Lakers 102, Grizzlies 101 04/06/03: Lakers 115, Suns 113 (OT) 02/17/04: Lakers 89, Blazers 86 02/19/04: Lakers 101, Nuggets 99 03/03/04: Lakers 96, Rockets 93 03/21/04: Lakers 104, Bucks 103 (OT) 04/14/04: Lakers 105, Blazers 104 (2OT) 03/13/05: Lakers 117, Bobcats 116 11/02/05: Lakers 99, Nuggets 97 (OT) 01/07/06: Lakers 112, Clippers 109 01/12/06: Lakers 99, Cavaliers 98 Note: Bryant has made 21 game-winning shots so far in his career. yo This Is Serious. I Know I Saw On This Forum Once Where Kobe Hit More Buzzer Beatersthan M.j. Dude Even Had The Number. I Am Baseing My Who Argument On That, And The Fact That In My Lifetime I Truley Remember Kobe Hitting More. Jordans Are Just Publicized To Backup His Ledgend
Those Numbers Aint Including The Playoff Games This Year Or Anything After March...thanks Dude That Is A Great Start

It is strictly buzzer beaters I believe.
What's scary is how many more years Kobe has in the league to add to his number. I would also have to say Kobe. That Suns game, does it count for 2? The one that took it to OT doesn't count as a GameWinner though huh? That sucks cuz that was amazing P.S. You guys don't mess around huh, $300 on a bet like this LOL, whatever happened to $20 bucks? lol , good stuff though, hope you win.

I can't find anything on Kobe's game winnners, however, I did find this about Jordan. And it's from NBA.com, so I'd say it's legit. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">After Michael Jordan hit a 19-foot jumper at the buzzer to give the Chicago Bulls an 84-82 victory in Game 1 of the 1997 NBA Finals, Houston Mitchell of The Los Angeles Times researched the number of game-winning shots that Jordan had made in his NBA career. Mitchell discovered that Jordan had made 22 game-winners, and add three more from '97-98 -- culminating with his championship-winner in Game 6 of the Finals -- for a total of 25. Twenty-four were in the last 10 seconds of games (one was with 22 seconds left) and eight were at the buzzer. And those are only the NBA game-winning shots -- the list does not include Jordan's 16-foot jumper with 15 seconds left in North Carolina's 63-62 victory over Georgetown in the 1982 NCAA championship game. </div> Link It also details each game he won and how much time was on the clock when he won it. I was hoping they'd have a similar thing for Kobe, but I couldn't find anything.
wow, your out $300.00 Good stuff though man... Stood up for Kobe like a true champ. I'd ask him to modify the bet. $500 says he hit more game winners by the end of his career than Jordan! YOU"LL win that for sure!! haha

And if you really look at it, that was only 11 full seasons and two more season where he played in 35 combined games, so...about 11 and a half seasons. So really, it's not too much more impressive than what MJ did. The only thing that sticks out is the age differential, but the reason it's so great is because of how much earlier Kobe was in the league. He's been here since he was 18, MJ didn't come in til he was 21.
Well it may be close in game winning shots, but overall, MJ is still way ahead of Kobe. Six-time NBA champion (1991-93, 1996-98); NBA MVP (1988, '91, '92, '96, '98); 10-time All-NBA First Team (1987-93, 1996-98); All-NBA Second Team (1985); Defensive Player of the Year (1988); Nine-time All-Defensive First Team (1988-93, 1996-98); Rookie of the Year (1985); 14-time All-Star; All-Star MVP (1988, '96, '98); One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996); Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1984, '92); 10 scoring titles (including 7 straight).
^ Just great. We are talking about game winners and then you just have to add all the other stuff in there to prove MJ is better than Kobe. There have been countless threads on MJ vs. Kobe and it leads everyone basically nowhere. Lets keep the discussion about GAMEWINNING SHOTS like this thread was originally about.

Therefore, he's actually scored the bulk in eight seasons. He had one game winning shot when he hasn't a starter, this coming in the 1998 season. So if you look at his total as a starter, it's about 21(the stat doesn't mention anything about games after Cleveland). He also averaged 70 games a season since becoming a starter. So he's nearly hit as many shots as Jordan while playing one third less seasons as Jordan. Jordan has around 250 more games on Kobe.
