He got 19 votes. Payton Manning got 13, Tom Brady got 10, Tiki Barber got 6 and Carson Palmer got 2. LT got none so all you retards who think LT is the best running back in the NFL -- screw you.
Oh don't get me wrong Alexander is the MVP this year but I wonder we all know what LT can do with healthy ribs and I wonder what he could do behind a line like Seattle?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Hawk)</div><div class='quotemain'>LT got none so all you retards who think LT is the best running back in the NFL -- screw you.</div> LT got none because his team didn't make the playoffs. There's more to the MVP award than how good you are - the success of your team plays into the voting. Maybe it shouldn't be this way, but its the way it is.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LT got none so all you retards who think LT is the best running back in the NFL -- screw you.</div> Let me break one of Alexander's ribs and see what happens to his numbers... LT has been playing hurt. Alexander deserved to win the MVP this year, no doubt about it. But if I were going to start an expansion team, I'd tak LT over Alexander any day of the week and twice on Sunday. P.S. Is there some reason that every one of your posts lately involves calling SOMEONE names? Just curious... I sense lots of pent up anger there for some reason. Save it for when the Seahawks get bounced from the playoffs. At least then it'll be understandable.
alexander is great but still he ran really well on poor teams such as houston, SF, tennesse, and st. louis. he ran badly against teams like phil, jac, washington, and even green bay. the only resaon he ran on indy is because they rested their starters. larry johnson had a tougher schedule and he ran on the teams that bottled up alexander and he had way more all purpose yards and receptions as well...most of his yards came from splitting carries too... just food for thought...

LT's rib shouldn't be used as an excuse to take anything away from Alexander. Which one is the better running back? Over the past five years, Alexander is about 200 yards ahead of Tomlinson. However, Tomlinson has 1,000 more receiving yards. Alexander does have the lead in touchdowns. These two football players are so close statistically that I can see arguments from both sides. I might prefer LT because I like a running back that can catch and be left in during passing downs which keeps the defense guessing as to what your team is going to do.
OK, LT is good but Alexander is better as a running back -- a RB is one who runs. Alexander runs better. LT is a running back and he can catch but that should not make him a better RB.
Saying that Shaun Alexander is a better runner than LaDainian Tomlinson has not been proven. Alexander has run for 200 more yards than LT in the past five seasons. However, don't forget Alexander came in the year before LT and only ran for 300 and something yards. LT has NEVER ran for less that a 1,000 yards in one season. If you compare Alexander's first five years in the NFL to LT's first five years, then LT has more yards. So while there may not be a significant difference in their rushing yards, LT is clearly the better receiver (I,000 more yards in one less season) and that makes him a more valuable player.
Alexander is also blessed with an exceptional line. Not saying that SD doesn't have a solid line but for the past couple of years KC and Seattle have built their teams around the O-line.. To defend Alexander.. I'm not 100% sure but I believe he was a backup to Ricky Watters his rookie season where as LT was given the go right away so it's not fair to compare their first season.. With all this said like someone said above I too would take LT first if I were building a franchise..

Sure, LT has the added dimension of pass catching, but he is still a very good runner as well. I have to echo the sentiments of everyone else so far...Alexander deserved the MVP this year, but given a choice I would probably take LT as my running back. Of course, I wouldn't be upset with Alexander either.

I think that stat wise a 200 yard difference over the course of five years isn't terribly significant. I brought up LT's pass receiving because that is where he stands heads and shoulders above Alexander and shows the LT is the more complete back.

LT was the featured Back the year the Bolts drafted him. I do agree that LT is a more complete Back. For those that watch Washington @ Seattle next week you will notice that on 3rd and 7 or 8 if Seattle is in a 1 Back, 3 WR, 1 TE or 1 Back, 4 WR set the Back will be Mack Strong and not Alexander because Alexander isn't a pass catching threat and more importantly doesn't pass protect well. Alexander deserved the MVP as much as anyone this year. 28 TD's is obviously the most all time. 1,880 yards is the 9th most all time. These numbers helped the Hawks to a 13-3 record. Should be 'nuff said.

However, if Alexander is a great as Hawk is claiming, then why didn't he kick Ricky Watter's butt in training camp and take his job away from him? Alexander is a great runner and the Seahawks should show him a little respect by giving him the type of contract that he has earned, but Alexander is not as great as Hawk claims.
