A gunman with a black trench coat and a mohawk haircut stormed a college in Montreal this afternoon, killing one person and wounding 19 before being killed by police officers.

Video Report Police said this evening that a 20-year-old woman who had been taken to a hospital after the attack had died.

The brazen attack began at about noon outside the college, according to eyewitnesses. The gunman reportedly shot several people outside before opening fire on students in the school?s cafeteria toward the end of the busy lunch hour and firing shots in the school?s atrium.

Reports suggested there were as many as three gunmen, as several eyewitnesses described one gunman wearing a long black coat and another wearing military fatigues. Police did not clarify how many shooters were in the school, but did say that it appeared the suspect was killed by officers.</div>

The thing about Montreal schools is that they have one year of college before they go into their universities. So this would probably be the equivalent of Grade 13, with a really young crowd. It's so sad.

shocking!!! i hope this renews the effort to implement the gun registry. the conservatives balked at it, claiming it was too expensive, yet their budget nearly doubled the liberal one.

Another shooting giving Lawyer Thomson a reason to blame video games for the cause. Very sad though, but I'm not shocked.

And to think, the Conservatives were on the verge of repealing some gun registration laws that were instituted after the last major shooting (that one in Montreal where several women were singled out). It's a shame it takes these type of tragedies for people to understand how necessary gun control is.

Apparently the dude's Punjabi and had kept a blog. I was reading about it in the Toronto Star this morning, and it was disturbing. Brought flashbacks of Columbine:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">(CP) - In an online blog, Kimveer Gill includes a photo of a tombstone with his name printed on it - below it the phrase: "Lived fast died young. Left a mangled corpse."

The blog, posted on an online hub of goth culture, paints a dark portrait of the 25-year-old man published reports have identified as the trenchcoat-wearing gunman who opened fire on students at Montreal's Dawson College Wednesday, killing one and injuring 19 others.

Gill's image gallery, which contains more than 50 photos, depicts the young man in various poses holding a Baretta CX4 Storm semi-automatic rifle and donning a long black trenchcoat and combat boots.</div>

yeah read this too, hopefully there isn't a backlash. fyi, they took his blog offline, he apparently had pictures on his profile at vampirefreaks.com - that same website has now been linked to three murder cases in canada.

I definitely foresee backlash coming from people too nearsighted to ask why this kid never got any psychiatric help or how he was able to get a hold of a gun so easily. Potential targets could be his music, his video games, that site, and goth culture.

What I'm wondering is if somebody took those photos of him or if he did them himself.
