I'm like Gandhi, but a little more economically right.

    ---------------------------
EDIT: I also took the Iconochasms quiz after that and this quote stood out:

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid. </div>

It was Dwight D. Eisenhower (a former republican President)

I also took a look at the Iconochasms quiz and, like Chutney, I found one quote to be very interesting.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, turning the whole Arab world against us and make a broken tyrant into a latter-day hero ... assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a securely entrenched dictator and condemning them to fight in what would be an un-winnable urban guerilla war. It could only plunge that part of the world into even greater instability.</div>

It's like a more accurate political spectrum. Instead of just generalizing and saying you're left-wing or right-wing, it takes into account the difference between economic and social values (eg: you can support Bush's economic policy without supporting his social one). On the economic line (horizontal), right tends to want free markets, tax cuts, less government interference, etc. while left advocates corporate responsibility, economic accountability, etc. On the social/political line (vertical), authoritarian wants a limit to certain beliefs/opinions, a more powerful state, etc. while libertarian seeks more individual freedoms, less censorship, government accountability, etc.

By the looks of your results, it seems you're generally pretty centrist. You favour a more leftist economic policy, so I'm guessing you disagreed with things like company's shouldn't have any social responsibility, but you weren't strongly in favour of either side very much. -0.87 Libertarian is almost nothing, but I'm guessing you disagree with censorship, invasion of privacy, but certain practices are immoral still. I know I'm generalizing, but most of the results people are going to get are close to the middle, with little variations.

where u stand on the economic line is an indicator of what economic system u prefer, e.g. if u were extreme left u would be a socialist and if u were extreme right, u would prefer austere capitalism (free market). the line that goes up (authoritarian, little or no freedom ) or down (social libertarian, freedom) indicates the degree of government control u prefer. one of the intriguing things u might see is that extremists like stalin or hitler in spite of political persuasion often have similiar proclivities.

    I'm a Gandhi/Dalai Lama on the dot.

Wow I took the Icon quiz and this stood out to me big time.
