C: Kwame, Mihm, Bynum PF: Vlad, Cook, Turiaf SF: Odom, Walton, Evans SG: Kobe, Green, Pinnock PG: Smush, Farmar, Shammond, Mckie That's 16 (if I counted everyone). Either someone gets traded in a two for one deal, or someone is released.

So that means we are two players above the roster limit, if I'm not mistaken. I'm guessing Mckie and Cook are going to be gone. (signing of Vlad makes Cook replaceable since both are shooting big man)

There's going to be a lot of position battles heading into preseason for the final spots on the roster. I'm just glad the Lakers have some potential depth for next season. The Lakers might end up buying out Aaron McKie's contract to make roster space, or pull off a two for one deal. Preseason is right around the corner, I'm getting PUMPED!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Two other names out there are Von Wafer and Laron Profit as well. </div> You mean as training camp bodies, right? Because neither are signed. Anyways, I'm hoping that Profit can somehow make the roster, although the chances look slim considering how many players are already on the roster. As for Wafer? The guy is NBDL material, and Mitch wasted a pick when we could have gotten someone like Ryan Gomes. I dont really care for Wafer at all.........
Well any player on the NBADL team the Lakers send down still counts towards the 15 man roster spot. This means two players currently signed won't be a Laker by the time the season starts. And two more might be sent to the DLeague.

Profit will also have a hard time, but I really hope somehow the Lakers find a way to bring him back. Anyways, I see Mckie and Cook gone, since both are expandable and have expiring contracts. Pinnock and Green will probably go to the D-League
I wouldn't consider Cook expendable. He was lights out last season from the perimeter and continues to improve each season. I'd rather the Lakers load up their frontline than come into the season with all those guards. McKie is likely gone, and then it comes down to waiving Sasha, Pinnock, or Green.
Considering we just signed Pinnock and Green why would they waive him? Looks like Sasha would be gone if we release a guard. Truthfully? I hope they release Kobe. He's garbage and a waste of roster space.

He may be a good spark off the bench, but I just think he is a good trade piece for us. We already have a big man that can shoot the ball in Vladmir, plus, I expect to see Ronny get consistent playing time this season, seeing that he is one of P.Jak's favorites thanks to his heart and hustle. Also, Cook has an expiring contract. I think we will probably use both Cook and Mckie in a two for one type of deal
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Why no punitive measures from the Lakers? Turns out Cook has some miracle contract clause called "love of the game." Not sure what it is, but it means he's not in any trouble and, by god, I want one, too. "Yes, boss, drunk today … love of the game, you see?")</div> I read this in an article. If this is true and not some joke then it looks like he is staying.
I dont think they should waive Cook. Better two three point threats than one if you ask me. Cook knows the tri better than most on our roster too. Waive Sasha!!! PLEASE!!!!!!
Cook and McKie needs to go, preferably through trades. I like Sasha a bit, since he does two things very well on the court: annoy the heck out of anyone he is guarding, and draw offensive fouls with help of his good acting skills.
I will love have Laron Profit and Devin Green in the team...they are both big guards (the type Jackson likes) my only problem is that i think they lack will and hussle. For sure get rid of Wafer and McKie. I'm think the lakers are looking for a trade and get rid of three players for one solid role player (maybe a veteran), the question is who? Cookie aka Baby Poop needs to stay...he shoots the ball very well, which is effective playing against big forwards and centers. Hes a key player in the triangle and towards the end of the season he was understanding the game better. He is also an ok rebounder and also blocks very well. If he improves his defense, Cook is the new Robert Horry. On more week for training camp and 17 days for pre-season. The coundown is on....

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lakers4Life:</div><div class="quote_post"></div> Glad someone agrees with me. Kobe = garbage. He misses all his shots, and is a liability on both offense and defense. We should trade him for Matt Bonner. Hopefully he plays "tight" D against KG when we get him.
