I may dreaming but things seem to really be coming together for the Patriots again. What are your thoughts on the NE @ Denver game? I'm picking the Patriots over the Broncos, 24-17.
Welcome The Pats dominance in the playoffs is nothing short of amazing. Last year was especially impressive. How long can they continue this streak? Well as long as Brady is healthy they have a shot.
Yep, I'm a noob. Thanks for the welcome but I don't think Denver can beat THIS Patriots team. It'll be a damn good game though, we can count on that.
I think they have too many injuries to win the Superbowl, even if they win this week, next week agianst the colts or steelers will a lot harder game
I know this will upset SF, but the Steelers don't scare me at all. The Colts on the otherhand are the clear cut favorite. The odds are stacked up against anyone that has to face them. The one thing in the Pats favor is history. They've proved their doubters wrong in the past.
So what about injuries now? I know Harrison is still out and will be for the rest of the season but the Pats are pretty damn healthy now, aren't they?
Hey welcome to the forums. I love the signature.. New England is doing an amazing job. Denver is going to be a tough task though. I'm excited about watching that game.
Let me be the first to say that I really hope the Patriots get their backsides handed to them this year. This is the first time that I've felt this way. Despite the Pats being a division rival, I've had a great deal of respect for the way they function as a team. It's hard not to like players with the poise of a Tom Brady or the heart of a Tedy Bruschi. It just seems to me that the Patriots and their fans are starting to believe they are God's gift to football. Yes, the Patriots are a great football team and the first dynasty of the 2,000s, but there are other good teams in the NFL and they deserve some respect. Predicting the Colts will win the Super Bowl this year is not a bold prediction. The Colts have had one heck of a year and deserve to be regarded as the front runner. I'm not sure how the Broncos have done it, but they have put together an impressive record and if anyone thinks they can waltz into Denver and beat the Broncos with ease, then they have another thing coming. The Steelers have also overcome adversity and don't deserve to be looked at as a bye week. I don't care really care for the Broncos, but I'm starting to hope that Denver stomps a mud hole in the Patriots and teaches them to respect their competition.
I would love to have a rematch of Super Bowl 38 between the Patriots and Panthers. Super Bowl 38 was one of the best super bowls, and the rematch would be just as great
Thanks for the comments, that pic is one of my favorites. I don't think the Pats disrespect their competition at all. Hell, if nothing else I think they fear them. Indy has done incredibly well this year and a lot of people say its their year but it may not be. There are very talented teams in the playoffs this year and New England is one of them. I'm still wondering who else besides Harrison is hurt though. Let me ask you this, if the Patriots had played all season long the way they have for the past month or so, do you think they would be right up there with Indy as far as popularity goes?
Yeah, what Dale said! You Pats fans are a bit too smug with your multiple SuperBowl rings. Everyone that's a fan of the NFL knows that you guys have been completely dominant. But remember.... Green Bay in the 60's, the Steelers in the 70's, the 49ers in the 80's, and the Cowboys of the 90's.... all good things must come to an end. And New England's streak will end. Count on it. I'm just hoping the Steelers are there to capitalize.

I'm predicting a 2-3 point victory. I'll admit we've been spoiled over this decade, but we're an intelligent fan base IMO. We realize the Colts are the best team right now. If it's Colts/Pats next week I'm picking the Colts.

I sure know SF has NEVER doubted his steelers will win just as he didn't last season in the AFC championship game and until my team comes out and lays a season long egg I will not doubt my team to be able to find a way to win no matter what the odds. Also if you think I'm not of the thinking that colts will win the superbowl this year then you are crazy...they would be the EASY favorite since they have handled pretty much everyone in their path with relative ease, but should we play I will hope and pray we can find a way to slow them down for that one day regardless of if they'd beat us 9 out of 10 times.
I think there's an assumption of winning when you've won 3 Super Bowls in 4 seasons. To no fault of your own. But even if you've beaten us 3 out of the last 4 times we've played, I can't imagine looking at us as the "easy" game. We have everything going now that we had when we beat you last year in the regular season. Ben was horrible in the playoffs last season. Why? He was a rookie and was worn down. He had a months worth of rest at the end of the season and since then has played some of his best football. We're being written off this weekend and if by some miracle we win, we're being written off in Denver or New England. I love the scenerio. Since we've been stronger on the road than at home, there's no reason to think that the best 6th seed in the history of the NFL doesn't have a chance to win out. Trai Essex isn't playing left takle this time at Indy. Ben is healthy and on a roll. We're 14 - 3 on the road in our last 17 games. We lost 2 winable games without Ben (Baltimore & Jacksonville), which would have given us the homefield, not Denver. We lost 2 more games with Ben playing injured and 2 games without Marvel Smith not playing left tackle. We lost to the Pats by 3, not because of Ben, but because our defense bent with 1:21 left in the game when they should have played better defense. Don't discount Pittsburgh... this is an 11-5 team playing like the 13-3 team that they should have been. How do you like them apples my old friend?

Denver has always been our 1 team that we've struggled against. The Colts are the new greatest show on turf. The Steelers are the 6th seed for a reason. Don't tell me about injuries, b/c the Pats had it worse than anyone. Imagine not having Porter & Polamalu for the majority of the season. The Pats showed you plenty of respect by mailing in the final game of the regular season. You were shown respect by the gambling world by being made the favorite on the road over a division rival. Now you're gonna have to earn it. Just like us you're the underdog this weekend. I think we can agree that neither the Pats nor the Steelers D is what it once was. At the same time you can throw out what happened in the 1st half of the season b/c neither team is the same. However you can't ignore history completely. The playoffs are a different beast. There's no team more battle tested than the Patriots.

Having the Steelers in New England may be favorable to playing in Indianapolis or Denver, but calling the Steelers an easy game is disrespectful. Yes, the Steelers are the sixth seed for a reason, however don't forget that the Steelers were 11-5 in the regular season and the Patriots were 10-6. If the Steelers and Patriots both win this weekend, the game only goes to New England because of the rule that says wildcards play at division champs regardless of record, not because the Patriots earned it by posting a better record.

Correct? So then as a Pats fan agreeing the Colts are the favorite wouldn't you see the Steelers as the "EASIER" opponent. Do I think either team would be easy...of course not and like Bakes said belichick laying down in the final game both to rest some guys and to avoid the steelers was a sign of respect. Also regardless of the steelers road record or any teams road record for that matter I would still rather play at home than on the road...PERIOD. Now another thing I think we'd all agree on is the Pats biggest weakness is there secondary? Who has a better arsenal in the passing game? The Colts or the Steelers? The Colts.....now I'm not saying Big Ben can't throw the ball but I'd rather face him than Manning...basically he is the lesser of two evils. Also I haven't "assumed" we will win this week. I have just merely said if things go this way we will win....and thats my opinion. By the way good to see the fire SF...man I love the playoffs...I wish we could go every year...and I hope we meet again this year...plus I'd love to go to another game.
