<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (bakes781)</div><div class='quotemain'><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>I think there's an assumption of winning when you've won 3 Super Bowls in 4 seasons. To no fault of your own. But even if you've beaten us 3 out of the last 4 times we've played, I can't imagine looking at us as the "easy" game.</div>
How can we NOT? Denver has always been our 1 team that we've struggled against. The Colts are the new greatest show on turf. The Steelers are the 6th seed for a reason. Don't tell me about injuries, b/c the Pats had it worse than anyone. Imagine not having Porter & Polamalu for the majority of the season. The Pats showed you plenty of respect by mailing in the final game of the regular season. You were shown respect by the gambling world by being made the favorite on the road over a division rival. Now you're gonna have to earn it. Just like us you're the underdog this weekend. I think we can agree that neither the Pats nor the Steelers D is what it once was. At the same time you can throw out what happened in the 1st half of the season b/c neither team is the same. However you can't ignore history completely. The playoffs are a different beast. There's no team more battle tested than the Patriots.</div>
More like not having Farrior, Polamalu,Marvel Smith, Jeff Hartings, while replacing a veteran and heart & soul type guy in andruzzi with late first round rookie at LG. I would say no Faneca but Andruzzi is no Alan Faneca. Either way Brady has gotten away with two rookies on his blind side though I must say there not really playing like rookies anymore.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (DolfanDale)</div><div class='quotemain'>There's the Patriot arrogance that I'm talking about. Having the Steelers in New England may be favorable to playing in Indianapolis or Denver, but calling the Steelers an easy game is disrespectful.</div>
I never said "easy". Those were SF's words.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (bakes781)</div><div class='quotemain'>I know this will upset SF, but the Steelers don't scare me at all. The Colts on the otherhand are the clear cut favorite. Ok, that is worse than easy

Then, when SF asked how you could call the Steelers an easy game, you said, "How could we NOT?" So, maybe you didn't say the word "easy," but it was certainly implied. It just strikes me as arrogance to look at a team with a better win-loss record and say that they don't scare you at all.

The thing that irratates me the most is he showed up for the 2nd super bowl win for pats, and posts when they are winning, but i almost never see these kindof arrogant posts when they struggled at begginning of season. IMO that is the definition of a fair-weather poster.

For me its not always about wins and losses when looking at a team and more style of play. The reason I would rather play the steelers than the Colts is I think their style of play is one we match up better against and have a chance to win. I'd rather see the pats in a our will against your will game than a straight passing attack game that the colts can bring.

I love the fire as well. You guys all have good points and defend your teams well. And I do agree about the "matchup" scenerio. What I don't agree on is that our defense isn't what it used to be. Our defense is younger, and faster. A little less experience, but great non-the-less. We'll be ready for Sunday and the following Sunday if we need to be.

I gotta feeling... Pittsburgh's goin' to the Super Bowl!

Wow, this became a wee bit heated, didn't it? Oh well, all we know is that NE is not the same team it was early in the year and IF we were as healthy then as we are now, our record wouldn't be 10-6, guaranteed.

Don't start that shit bf1. I've been here all season.

Anybody not wearing black & gold sunglasses saw that we dominated the Steelers in week 4. Yes turnovers are a part of the game. But if you're relying on them in order to even stay close than you're not a contender for the SB. You're a 6th seed that just beat the weakest defensive team in the playoffs when they lost their star QB on the opening drive. I picked the Colts by 14 over the Steelers & to be honest I was being kind to Pittsburgh. They'll probably lose by more. That's not a disrespect to the Steelers. That's just how much respect I have for what the Colts have done.

Those that are confusing my confidence for arrogance simply don't know me. And that's your problem.

Let me clarify for those that like to take me out of context; I believe the Steelers would be an EASIER matchup than the other 2 remaining AFC playoff contenders.

One quick question IF the scenario were to come up, but I'm not saying that it will. How does San Diego's pass defense stack up agains New England's? I'm still trying to figure out how and why Indy lost to SD.

The Colts beat the Steelers by 19 with no Marvel Smith and a rusty & injured Ben. Please save your kindness for your 18 injured Pats players. The Steelers certainly haven't needed the kindness of the media since no one is picking us, we certainly don't need anyone holding back now.

    I LOVE BEING UNDERRATED!

All things change on Sunday. I can't WAIT!

Hey I hope you're right. [IMG]

As I said that clears the way for a realistic shot at a 3 peat.

Yes, if you think the Colts are unbeatable, then you're right, you would have a chance at a 3-peat.

Indy lost that game for 2 reasons

    1) lots of pressure on manning, it wasnt the secondary.
    2) The colts had nothing to play for, and the chargers had everything to play for

Obvioulsy, #2 will never apply to a playoff game, so you need seymour and mcginest to get pressure on manning. but, that is a rule vs any passing team

Were you taken out of context or did you just not make yourself clear enough? I'm not sure how "the Steelers don't scare me at all" is misinterpreted.
I keep hearing a lot excuses about teams records in this thread. Bill Parcells says, "Your team is what your record says you are." My feeling is that if you have to make excuses for your record, then your team probably isn't as good as you might hope. That goes for the Steelers and Patriots.

You haven't heard excuses from me. And if the Pats lose tomorrow I'll be here Monday sans excuses. Are this year's Pats as good as last year's team? NO Are they better than they were from the 1st half of this season? YES

Nothing more true than that..lets just hope the second half pats can work some magic and be good enough.
