Division winners are still guaranteed a top 4 seed, so regardless as to whether or now the Rockets have the better record, as long as Denver wins their division, they're likely to get a higher seed because I don't think Houston will be finishing ahead of the Mavs or Spurs.

Yeah, hey, you're doing what fans are SUPPOSED to do. Dream. Good for you. Back in the REAL WORLD, the only way they get in is if not one, but two of the top teams just FALLS APART. Houston did it last year. It's hard to give GSW the nod even over Memphis who no-one in the above list has in the playoffs......strange really. I guess people place a lot of importance on Battier to that team.

Gasol is hoping to be back by the season opener. Just a thought. And even if he's not, it's not like Swift is awful. He's done well in his 20ish minutes per game over his career, so I wouldn't doubt to see him give them 14ppg, 8rpg, and 2bpg.

As for the Warriors, I don't think they're making the playoffs. I realize they just got themselves a new coach in Don Nelson that will utilize that offense to it's fullest and really open it up for everyone on that team to get their shots, much like he did in Dallas. However, I don't think they have enough defense to win, and I think they're going to have a lot of inconsistencies on offense. Also, if Baron isn't healthy, they're going to also have problems right there. He's going to be one of the main points on that offense and he's going to be their playmaker. If he's not healthy, they lose their best playmaker and a good scorer in the process. He needs to stay healthy if they want to win. All in all, there are too many question marks surrounding them in my opinion. While they're offense looks good, you don't know whether or not they'll be good. They're defense is always going to be suspect as well. So, while the coaching change is good for them and all, I still don't think they're going to have enough defense to win enough games to make the playoffs, especially in the extremely tough Western Conference.

I put them on par (maybe a little lower) than the Warriors. It depends on how long Gasol is out though. I read on article that said he may be out the whole season.

Whoever wins the Northwest division is guarenteed a top 4 seed. The format was changed so that the two best teams wouldn't play in the second round.

Guys stated by teh new rules...Who ever wins their division is gauranteed 1 of the top 4 seeds. The team that doesnt win their division but has the highest record after that is also gauranteed top 4.

    last year it was
    spurs
    phoenix
    denver
    dallas

if the rule actually went into affect it would have been
    spurs
    mavs
    phoenix
    denver

That means 3 teams from same division cant be in top 4

    1)Pho
    2)Dal
3)SA (damn it's a coin toss between SA and Dal)
    4)Minnesota
    5)Sacramento
    6)Houston
    7)LAC
    8)Denver

Damn the west is so stacked. NOK, LAL, Jazz, SEA, hell even SEA could be on that list.

Redistirct the NBA divisions! West gets Atlanta and Milwaukee, and the East gets Memphis and Minny.

I bet Mem, and Min would lead the east [IMG]
