<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Lamar Odom, carrying a bible and without his usual smile, spoke somberly Thursday regarding the sudden death of his 6 1/2 -month-old son three months ago, saying he needed to be strong for his other children.

"I feel a little lost at times. God is keeping me strong," Odom told reporters Thursday at the Los Angeles Lakers' training camp in his first public comments since Jayden Odom suffocated in his crib and died June 28.

"Sometimes, I need to be by myself, whether it's a week or two weeks," he said. "My family has been understanding. There was a time when I thought basketball wasn't going to be able to heal the wound."

Odom and Liza Morales, his longtime companion, have an 8-year-old daughter, Destiny, and a 5-year-old son, L.J.

"She's in the third grade -- she reads on a fifth-grade level. She understands," Odom said of his daughter regarding Jayden's death. "(L.J.) understands, too. I don't think he gets it like his sister gets it."

Odom said his son was healthy at the time of his death, and autopsy reports weren't conclusive.

I wish the best for him and his family. I can't imagine what he must be going through. Keep your head up Odom

It must be really difficult to lose a child, Odom obviously loves his children.

its always wierd when you hear of the personal dramas of a celebrity. You would never expect things like this to happen to someone of such high profile. Best of wishes.

Damn, I don't want to sound like an ass here, but I completely forgot about this tragedy.

I know losing a loved one is tough, but losing an infant like that has to be one of the most emotionally painful things you can experience.

    <font color=""DarkOrchid""><div align="center">Silent child
    Precious baby,
    Close to my heart
    I'll keep you with me.
    An important job
    God has for you,
    There is love to give,
    and work to do.

    He needs an angel
    strong but small,
    To shine light on many
    and give love to all.
    Before you go
    I give you this,
    half my heart
    and one last kiss.

    We'll miss you dearly
    that we know,
    But by God you were
    chosen,
So to heaven, you must go </div></font>

    naw, have to disagree.

If he lost one of his other two kids, it would have been A LOT worse.

Do you know how many more memories he has of those children than his infant child of only 6 months?

I don't want anyone to get me wrong, losing an infant or baby is VERY TRAGIC, however, losing a child the ages of his other children is far worse.

They have a personality, and a lot more memories than an infant.

I hope Lamar stays strong through this ordeal and keeps his faith in God and comes back stronger and better than ever.

Guys, there's no way a person can think loosing one child over another is less painful. Both scenarios are extremely tragic, there's no point in arguing about that. [IMG]

Hopefully it's theraputic for Odom to talk about it, instead of bottling up his emotions. With a tragedy like this, you really can't predict how he's going to recover or handle it. He could use it as motivation, or he could just breakdown mentally sometime during the season.

I just hope the best for his family, he has two other kids who still need their dad to be strong.

He will dedicate this season to Jayden.

I hope that Odom recovers from this because it could be a life changing event for the worse. My prayers are with him. I hope that Odom realizes that life moves on and the show must continue. He still has a family to take care of.

I worded it wrong, I actually meant child. Sorry for misleading you.

Wow, Odom looks aged in those pictures I think. He looks skinnier, too. Damn, I hope he can get his head clear for his personal health, he doesn't look healthy to me.

I saw the interview on Rogan's sport segment on Channel 4 last night.

THe interview in text doesn't show how his voice sounded, man he sounded very depressed and sad.

Best of luck to Odom. Hopefully he realizes that his family, the team, and all the fans are backing him up 100%
