<div align="center">Rodney Carney <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward Height/Weight: 6-7 / 205 Birthdate: April 15, 1984 College: Memphis Acquired: Drafted by the Bulls in the first round (16th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft, then traded to the Sixers. Career Highlights: While this will be Carney's first season in the NBA, he built quite a resume during his time playing for the Memphis Tigers in college. He holds the Memphis record for career three-pointers made (287, 3rd in C-USA history) and finished third in career scoring for the Tigers (1,901 points). He also played in 133 career games, second most in school history. He was named the Conference USA Player of the Year and a C-USA All-Tournament Team selection. Season Outlook: The acquisition of Carney was the most notable move made by the Sixers to improve their team defense and athleticism for the upcoming season. Compared by many to Andre Iguodala, Carney is a tremendous athlete with exceptional speed and leaping ability and also comes with a respectable outside shot, having set the Memphis single-season record with 102 three-pointers made in a season during his senior year. Carney will play both shooting guard and small forward for the Sixers, which sets him up to compete for minutes with Iguodala, Kyle Korver, Willie Green, and fellow draft pick Bobby Jones. Front Office Opinion*: "Carney is a very athletic shooting guard/small forward who will be a very good transition player capable at finishing well at rim. He has deep range on his face up jumper and is explosive getting into the lane and to the rim. Expect him to compete for playing time as he gains experience and learns the NBA game. He has a lot of potential and will be an exciting player for years to come. People in the Philly region will love his enthusiasm and desire for the game of basketball." </div> Samuel Dalembert <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Center Height/Weight: 6-11 / 250 Birthdate: May 10, 1981 College: Seton Hall Acquired: Selected by the Sixers in the first round (26th overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft. Career Highlights: Dalembert is entering his fifth NBA season in 2006-07. For his career he has appeared in 254 games (165 starts), averaging 7.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.90 blocks per game. He is a 52.9 percent (738-1395) shooter from the field and 63.8 percent from the line. Dalembert became the seventh player in franchise history to record at least three consecutive seasons (2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06) with 100-plus blocks. Last season Dalembert shot 53.1 percent (196-369 FG) from the floor and 70.5 percent from the line (93-132 FT). He finished the season averaging 7.3 points and 8.2 rebounds while only playing 26.7 minutes per game. He ranked 6th in the NBA in blocks per game (2.42) and 8th in total blocks (180). Dalembert set a season-high with seven blocks versus Boston (1/13). He also blocked five-plus shots in a game 13 times (7-6). He Tied a season-high with 20 points versus Boston (1/13) and had a career-high 22 rebounds at Phoenix (1/4). He missed 16 games due to injury, the first 13 of the season with a right quad strain (11/1 - 11/23) and three games due to a left ankle sprain (2/24 - 2/27). Season Outlook: Dalembert has built a reputation around the league as one of the best shot-blockers in the NBA. Between the months of November and January last season Dalembert averaged 3.31 blocks per game in 32 contests. The maturation and development of Dalembert will be one of the key aspects of a team that is looking to become stronger defensively. Dalembert is heading into the season as the favorite to win the starting job at the center position, and will share time with Steven Hunter and the newly acquired Alan Henderson in the middle. Front Office Opinion*: "Expect Dalembert to be a defensive force blocking shots and rebounding the ball on both the defensive and offensive glass. He has developed his outside mid-range game so that you have to respect his shooting from 12-15 feet facing the basket. He improved his low post offensive game over the summer and has gotten both bigger and stronger. He's also one of the fastest bigs in the league, so he should be able to utilize this asset. In short, Dalembert will anchor the middle with his athletic talent and extremely long length along with improved offensive capabilities." </div> Willie Green <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Guard Height/Weight: 6-4 / 200 Birthdate: July 28, 1981 College: Detroit Mercy Acquired: Selected in the second round (41st overall) of the 2003 NBA Draft by the Seattle Sonics, the traded to the Sixers. Career Highlights: Green is entering his fourth NBA season in 2006-07. For his career he has appeared in 120 career games (23 starts) averaging 7.3 points, 1.3 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 16.6 minutes per game. In 2004-05 Green shot 42.4 percent (28-66 FG) from the floor and 80.0 percent from the free-throw line (4-5 FT), while shooting 52.9 percent (10-19 3FG) from three-point range. He only appeared in 10 games though as he missed the majority of this season rehabilitating from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, before re-signing with the Sixers on March 23, 2006. In limited action Green averaged 7.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 15.3 minutes per game. Season Outlook: Green will look to regain the promise that he showed at times during the 2004-05 season while playing in his first full season since major knee surgery. In the 2004-05 season without Allen Iverson in the lineup (7 games), Green averaged a team-leading 18.0 points along with 5.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Green has worked extremely hard in the offseason to make sure that he is not only fully recovered from his knee injury, but even better than before. Green will play minutes at both guard positions this season and therefore will see more minutes this season than he would have if he were limited to one position. Front Office Opinion*: "Willie Green will be a versatile "combo" guard that is quite capable of playing both guard positions. He has worked extremely hard to get back to physical health and is a great competitor. Expect him to compete for major minutes this season with his improved consistency on his outside jump shot and ball handling under pressure. He has always been a powerful, explosive type of athlete and that has not changed. He's already a good on the ball defender and has improved his lateral quickness and footwork along with added upper body strength to become even a better overall defender. Green loves to lock down on a opponent defensively." </div> Alan Henderson <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward/Center Height/Weight: 6-9 / 240 Birthdate: December 2, 1972 College: Indiana Acquired: Signed as a free agent by the Sixers on Sept. 8, 2006. For his career he has appeared in 614 career games (215 starts) averaging 8.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 21.8 minutes per game. In 2005-06 Henderson played in 51 games (three starts) for the Cleveland Cavaliers. In 10.4 minutes per game, he averaged 3.5 points and 4.5 rebounds. He has shot over 50% from the field over the past two seasons. On April 14, 1998 Henderson totalled a career-high 39 points against the 76ers. The sixers are Henderson's fourth NBA team in 12 years. He spent his first nine seasons with Atlanta, 2004-05 with Dallas, and 2005-06 with the Cavs. Season Outlook: Henderson is the most recent addition to the 76ers squad and will provide some much needed depth in the front court. While being entirely capable of holding his own with the basketball, Henderson's main assett has always been offensive rebounding. He has averaged 2.2 offensive rebounds per game in his career, which make up almost 40 percent of his overall rebounds. Henderson is another veteran on a young team and will provide experience. Front Office Opinion*: "Henderson was added to the team to provide veteran leadership, especially with team's bigs. He is a very capable offensive rebounder with long length and size. Henderson has been a proven PF for many years in this league with a high basketball IQ. He possesses a good face up jumpshot of 15-17 feet and loves to roam along baseline for jumpers and offensive rebounds. He has a very solid postup game and overall runs floor and provides activity when in the game." </div> Steven Hunter <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Center/Forward Height/Weight:7-0 / 240 Birthdate: October 31, 1981 College: DePaul Acquired: Signed as a free agent by the Sixers on August 12, 2005. Career Highlights: Hunter is only 24 years old, and is already entering his 6th NBA season in the NBA in 2006-07. For his career he has appeared in 290 career games (87 starts) averaging 4.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 14.2 minutes per game. In 2005-06 Hunter played in 69 games (35 starts) for the Sixers. In 19 minutes per game, he averaged career highs with 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He shot an amazing 60.1% from the field over the season. He really started to come into his own at the end of the season by averaging 12.7 points and 5.8 rebounds over the last six games of the year. Season Outlook: Steven Hunter is one of the few 7-footers in the NBA and has the ability to play both the center and power forward positions. Specializing in defense, Hunter is always near the top of the league in blocks per 48 minutes. He showed near the end of the 2005-06 campaign that he can successfully play along side Samuel Dalembert to form one of the tallest front courts in the NBA. Front Office Opinion*: "Hunter is another long, athletic 7-footer for the team. He has length and leaping ability to bother most shot attempts. He also possesses very good straight line speed running the floor for easy transition baskets. Hunter can provide some low post offense when entering the game with a good jump-hook and an improved "drop-step" too. Expect improved consistency in his play on the floor while in the game this season. Hunter has worked hard over the summer to earn more playing time this upcoming season." </div> Andre Iguodala <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Guard/Forward Height/Weight: 6-6 / 207 Birthdate: January 28, 1984 College: Arizona Acquired: Selected by the Sixers in the 1st round (9th pick overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft. Career Highlights: Andre Iguodala is entering his third season with the 76ers in 2006-07. He has played in, and started, all 164 games played by the Sixers over his two years with the team. He is the first Sixers player since Clarence Weatherspoon (1992-94) to start and play in all 82 games of his first two seasons with the team. Over his brief career, Iguodala is averaging 10.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.66 steals in 35.2 minutes per game. Iguodala had a tremendous rookie season in 2004-05, and only continued to get better in his sophomore campaign. He displays a tremendous all-around game on the court, evidenced by his 12.3 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.65 steals in 37.6 minutes per game over the year. He shot 50.0 percent (344-688 FG) from the field and 75.4 percent (263-349 FT) from the free-throw line in 2005-06. He hit the first game-winning, buzzer-beating shot of his career at Minnesota on Jan. 22. Iguodala finished the season with 10 twenty-point games (9-1) and eight games (6-2) with 10-plus rebounds. He also scored a career-high 27 points against New Jersey on April 18. Season Outlook: Andre Iguodala is recognized around the league as a tremendous talent, and has earned a reputation as a defensive stopper. He was first able to showcase his ability to the nation over the 2006 All-Star weekend, when he was named the MVP for the 2006 T-Mobile Rookie Challenge (30 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists), and joined Nate Robinson of the Knicks in putting on a high-flying show during the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk Contest. Iguodala will be a fixture on the Sixers for years to come and is one of the brightest young stars in the league. Front Office Opinion*: "Andre Iguodala is a very good athletic talent who has gotten better and better on becoming a defensive stopper. He has gained valuable experience with defending many of the leagues premier wing players the past couple of seasons and now is expected to become more of a consistent offensive contributor with his transition game and outside shooting. He has also become a more confident deep range "spot up" shooter. Expect him to really show a much improved "off the dribble" shot as he gets into the lane. He loves to take on challenges and is a extremely thorough competitor that will not be outworked. Expect him to be a major contributor on both ends of floor."</div> *Allen Iverson <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Guard Height/Weight: 6-0 / 165 Birthdate: June 7, 1975 College: Georgetown Acquired: Selected by the Sixers in the 1st round (first pick overall) of the 1996 NBA Draft. Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves is the only active player in the league to have played more seasons with only one team. He has played in 682 games (678 starts) in his 10 year career. He is currently third in NBA History in scoring average (28.0 ppg) behind only Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain. He also averages 6.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.34 steals per game in 41.7 minutes. He was named MVP of two All-Star Games (2001 and 2005). He also has career averages of 30.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 2.19 steals in 62 Playoff games. Statistically, 2005-06 was one of Allen Iverson's best seasons. He had his highest scoring average of his career (33.0 ppg) at the age of 30. In 72 games (all starts) he averaged 33.0 points, 7.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.94 steals in 43.1 minutes per game. He shot 44.7 percent (815-1822 FG) from the field and 81.4 percent (675-829 FT) from the free-throw line and set career-highs in field goals, field goal percentage, free-throws made and attempted, points and scoring average. Iverson led the NBA in minutes per game, ranked second in points per game, seventh in steals per game and eighth in assists per game. He had five 40-point, 10-assist games (4-1) to lead the league and land in the company of Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, Nate Archibald and Michael Jordan as the only players in league history to have five in a season. Iverson recorded his 19,000th career point versus Washington (4/10) becoming the sixth-fastest player to do so in his 679th career game. Iverson was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week three times in 2005-06: 1/17/06, 12/12/05 and 3/6/06. Season Outlook: Allen Iverson is a perennial all-star and MVP candidate, and one of the best players in the NBA. Regarded by many as the best little-man to ever play the game. Iverson seems to only be getting better with age having averaged a career best 33.0 points per game in his 10th season. While Iverson is a great scorer, he is also one of the best in the league at distributing the ball, ranking eighth in the league in assists per game last season. Iverson will benefit from having another year of experience with the players around him. Iverson is a clear cut starter and can play both guard positions. Front Office Opinion*: "What can I say about Allen Iverson. He is a tremendous physical athlete and one of the greatest to ever play the game. He is extremely dedicated and one of the most competitive people you will ever meet. He has the ability to do anything on the basketball court that he pleases. This season, he will have more trust in his teammates to produce and won't have to take over as many games." </div> Bobby Jones <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward Height/Weight: 6-7 / 215 Birthdate: January 9, 1984 College: Washington Acquired: Selected by the Timberwolves in the second round (37th pick overall) in the 2006 NBA Draft, and then traded to the Sixers. Career Highlights: 2006-07 will be Bobby Jones' first season in the NBA. In four seasons with Washington, Jones averaged 9.8 points per game with a career high of 11.2 in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Jones earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors as a senior. He finished his collegiate career as the 20th all-time leading scorer in Washington history with 1,226 points. He also ranks fourth all-time with 134 career steals. Jones started 106 of 125 career games and was a member of the 2005 USA World University Games Team that earned a gold medal in Izmir, Turkey. In his senior season Jones averaged 10.4 points and 4.9 rebounds. He scored in double figures 18 times and posted two double-doubles. He tied a career high with 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds at USC and posted a double-double of 11 points and a season-high 12 rebounds at UCLA in the very next game on his way to Pac-10 Player of the Week honors. He also averaged 9.7 points and 4.7 rebounds in three NCAA Tournament games. Season Outlook: Jones has been touted by many as the best on-the-ball defender in the 2006 draft class and is able to defend multiple positions because of his length and quickness. With the additions of Jones and Rodney Carney in the draft, the Sixers significantly upgraded their defensive ability on the wings. Jones will primarily play small forward and will therefore share time with Andre Iguodala, Kyle Korver, and Rodney Carney. Front Office Opinion*: "Bobby Jones is a very tough overall defensive player with a "lunch pail" attitude. He will be able to play multiple wing positions and is a physical type of no-nonsense player. He has the potential to be a very solid defender in our league for years to come. Jones has respectable offensive capabilities and can face up and shoot the mid-range jumper well. He has a knack of getting his hands on the ball and deflecting passes. Expect him to compete for playing time with is effort and approach to the game." </div> Kyle Korver <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward/Guard Height/Weight: 6-7 / 210 Birthdate: March 17, 1981 College: Creighton Acquired: Selected by the Nets in the second round (51st pick overall) in the 2003 NBA Draft, and then traded to the Sixers. Career Highlights: 2006-07 will be Kyle Korver's fourth NBA season, all with the Sixers. In 238 career games (100 starts), Korver has averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 25.7 minutes per game. He is a 41.1 percent (491-1203 3FG) shooter from three-point range in first three NBA seasons. He passed Hersey Hawkins to move into 2nd place on the all-time franchise list for most three-point field goals made vs. Washington. In 2004-05, Korver set the single-season franchise record for three-point field goals made (226, previous mark: 197, Dana Barros, 1994-95) and attempted (558, previous mark: 460, Vernon Maxwell, 1995-96). Last season Korver set career-highs in field goals made and attempted, field goal percentage, three-point field goals percentage and free-throws made and attempted. In 82 games (43 starts) he averaged 11.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 31.3 minutes per game. He shot 43.0 percent (327-761 FG) from the field and 84.9 percent (101-119 FT) from the free-throw line and shot 42.0 percent (184-438 FG) from three-point range, a career-best. Korver finished the season ranked 5th in the league in three-point field goals made 11th in three-point field goal percentage . Season Outlook: Kyle Korver is one of the best long range threats in the leage, as evidenced by the fact that he is already in 2nd place on the Sixers all-time three-point field goals made list after only three seasons in the NBA. Korver worked hard last season to improve his ability to put pump-fake and put the ball on the floor. Korver can play either small forward or shooting guard and provides plenty of offense off of the bench for the Sixers. He will compete for time with Willie Green, Andre Iguodala, Rodney Carney, Bobby Jones and Allen Iverson. Front Office Opinion*: "Kyle Korver is obviously a knock-down type of shooter with deep threat range of 22-23 feet. He has really worked extremely hard to become a better athlete and a quicker player over the summer. Korver has a very good approach to the game in terms of preparing his body and mind to the rigors of nba season and will not be out-worked in the off-season. He tried to really work this summer on his ball handling vs. defensive pressure and improving his shot off the dribble or "mid-range game". Expect him to have improved his on the ball defense along with improved overall body strength." </div> Ivan McFarlin <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward Height/Weight: 6-8 / 240 Birthdate: April 26, 1982 College: Oklahoma State Acquired: Signed by the Sixers as a free agent on Sept. 8, 2006. He finished his career at OSU ranked second all-time for career field-goal percentage (58.3 percent), fifth in career double-doubles (21), and 10th in career rebounds (733). Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in three of his four seasons at OSU, McFarlin helped the Cowboys reach the NCAA tournament all four years, highlighted by their Final Four appearance in 2004. McFarlin averaged 9.2 points and a league-leading 9.7 rebounds in six games (five starts) on the Sixers 2006 Summer League team that competed in the Rocky Mountain Revue in Salt Lake City, Utah, from July 14-21. He led the Sixers in rebounds in five of their six games, and turned in a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds against Seattle on July 20. Season Outlook: Ivan McFarlin was able to impress the 76ers coaching staff enough during the 2006 Rocky Mountain Revue that he was given a contract to tryout for the team. He is a very hard worker that goes after the ball. He can play both forward positions and will provide intensity off of the bench for the Sixers in the upcoming season. Front Office Opinion*: "McFarlin is a free agent that is competing for a roster spot on the team. He played well this summer on our summer league team and impressed our coaching staff with his energy and work on the defensive end of the floor. He possesses pretty good overall size and strength for a PF/SF combo player who will have a chance to showcase his "lunch pail" approach in training camp. Expect him to rebound, defend, and do the little things to make teams have a better chance to win games. He has a chance to make it to the league this season." </div> Kevin Ollie <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Guard Height/Weight: 6-2 / 195 Birthdate: December 27, 1972 College: Connecticut Acquired: Traded by the Cavaliers to the Sixers on July 20, 2004. As a starter, Ollie averaged 4.6 points, 2.4 assists and 1.8 rebounds in 24.1 minutes per game, and also only had 15 turnovers in the 23 games. Season Outlook: Kevin Ollie is a strong veteran presence for the Sixers and capable of playing the role of a floor general. He has a strong frame and is able to play good man-to-man defense. His basketball IQ and calm demeanor enabled him to start 23 games for the squad last year. He mainly plays point guard, and will share time at the position with Allen Iverson, Louis Williams and Willie Green. Front Office Opinion*: "Kevin Ollie is a veteran guard that approaches the game with a clinical mindset of working every day to not only better his individual skills but to help younger players (particularly guards) on the team become better. He never has gotten credit with his physical conditioning and ready to play attitude since he has not been a rotation player at times. He will be counted on heavily to continue to provide a steadying style when in the game and get everyone involved on offense. His best asset is his physical, aggressive approach to defending on the ball. He possesses a strong, physical type of body. KO has worked hard to become a more consistent threat offensively when open from outside. Expect him to help the team all season long." </div> Shavlik Randolph <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward Height/Weight: 6-10 / 240 Birthdate: November 24, 1983 College: Duke Acquired: Signed by the Sixers as an undrafted free agent on August 5, 2005. Randolph set career-highs in rebounds (13), blocks (3) and minutes (33:36) vs. Chicago (2/25). He made his first career start at Phoenix (1/4). He also pulled down a team-leading 10-plus rebounds off the bench in back-to-back games vs. Atlanta (12/14, 12 reb) and vs. Miami (12/16, 10 reb). He tallied career highs in points (10) and field goals (4) vs. Milwaukee (12/7). Season Outlook: Shavlik Randolph is an extremely hard working, physical player. He made a name for himself last season with the energy he was able to provide off of the bench for the Sixers. He will be a significant role player for the Sixers this season while playing primarily power forward and sharing time with Chris Webber, Alan Henderson, and Ivan McFarlin. Front Office Opinion*: "Shavlik Randolph has worked hard over the summer months to continually improve his body through gaining more upper body strength and a better core balance to be able to finish more effectively when in the game. He has a very good knack of offensive rebounding and is a deceptive athlete. He gained valuable experience last season, working hard on both defensive and offensive skills. We need for him to provide us a lift off the bench in segments doing whatever is necessary to help the team win. He is improving his consistency on his mid-range jump shot and is adept at getting to the free throw line. Expect him to be in the league and become a good contributing player." </div> *Chris Webber <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Forward Height/Weight: 6-10 / 245 Birthdate: March 1, 1973 College: Michigan Acquired: Traded by the Kings to the Sixers on February 23, 2005. Last season Webber played in 75 games (all starts) and averaged 20.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.37 steals in 38.6 minutes per game. He shot 43.4 percent (617-1422 FG) from the field and 75.6 percent (263-348 FT) from the free-throw line. Webber had 38 double-doubles on the season to rank 7th in the NBA and ranked eighth in the league in rebounds per game. He had 40 games (20-20) with 20 or more points and seven 30-point games (5-2). He recorded his ninth-career 20-point, 20-rebound game with 27 points and 21 rebounds, versus Minnesota (12/12) and also had a career-high 18 defensive rebounds versus Minnesota (12/12). Season Outlook: Chris Webber showed everybody last season that he is able to play alongside Allen Iverson by going out and averaging 20.2 points per game. While he may have been slowed some by microfracture surgery on his knee during the 2003-04 season, Webber is one of the smartest players in the game and can provide veteran leadership to the Sixers while still putting up all-star caliber numbers. He is regarded as one of the best passing big men in the game. He will enter the season as the team's starting power forward and will share time with Shavlik Randolph, Ivan McFarlin and Alan Henderson. Front Office Opinion*: "Chris Webber is a versatile PF with a wealth of experience in this league. He is an extremely creative passer with great court vision and unselfishness. He has the capability to shoot with range facing basket and is a consistent elbow threat to either make a play, pass the ball or shoot with accuracy. Webber is an underrated teacher of the game to younger players who look to him for his experience and knowledge due to his high basketball IQ. He likes to take on a challenge and is often at his best in big games. Expect him to again be a major contributor for our team on both ends of the floor." </div> Louis Williams <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Position: Guard Height/Weight: 6-2 / 175 Birthdate: October 27, 1986 High School: South Gwinnett HS (Snellville, GA) Acquired: Selected by the 76ers in the second round (45th overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft. Career Highlights: 2006-07 will be Williams' second in the league. He became the first high school player selected by the 76ers in the draft since Darryl Dawkins (1975, 1st round, 5th pick overall). He was the winner of the 2005 Naismith Award, signifying the nations top high school player and scored 3,338 points during his high school career. In 30 games during Williams' rookie season he averaged 1.9 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 4.8 minutes per game. He shot 44.2 percent (23-52 FG) from the field and 61.5 percent (8-13 FT) from the free-throw line. Williams had a career-best nine points in 16:19 minutes, also a career-best vs. Phoenix (1/31). He entered the 2005-06 season as the seventh-youngest player in the NBA. Williams played for the Sixers this summer during the 2006 Rocky Mountain Revue, and finished second in scoring (22.0 ppg), led the Revue in assists (5.2 apg) and finished third in steals (2.00 spg). His efforts earned him 2006 Rocky Mountain Revue All-Tournament honors. Season Outlook: Louis Williams will look to use his year of NBA experience and added maturity to gain more minutes on the court and be a contributor for the Sixers during 2006-07. He showcased some terrific offensive skills during the Rocky Mountain Revue and shows the promise to be a major contributor in the NBA in the future. Williams can play both guard positions, but will primarily at the point position for the Sixers and will split time with Kevin Ollie and Willie Green in backing up Allen Iverson. Front Office Opinion*: "Williams is a very athletic player with extremely long length overall with his body. He has the ability to get into the lane and distribute the ball or make a play. He has the knack of scoring over taller, stronger defenders. He improved his ball-handling skills vs. defensive pressure and seeing the floor at all times. He has a chance to become a very good on the ball defender with his lateral quickness and active feet/hands." </div> </div> Link
Thanks for finding that Brian, that was an awesome read. Pretty much agree with everything on there. I just hope Willie Green is back healthy and ready to play some ball.
Good find Brian. I'm really interested to see how Louis Williams does this season, actually..it sounds like he's really improved his game during the off-season. And Carney is going to provide us with some good 3pt shooting to go along with his defense and athletic ability. I also have a good feeling about Jones, Smith and McFarlin.
I read that the other day. I think overall, the team is stacked at 3-point shooters in Korver, Iggy, Iverson, Green, and sometimes C-webb gets hot from behind the arc. I don't think offense will be a problem this year.
