The thought of seeing Howard and Milicic, two 20-year-old 7-footers, dominating in the paint is intriguing -- even to Battie.

"I call them the new millennium Twin Towers," Battie said. "One is a lefty, one is a right. One is power, one is finesse. I think they are the perfect complement to one another, and I can see them playing together for a lot of years to come."</div>

No, not at all. If you're talking about 5 years from now, maybe. But now? Not by a long shot. When Duncan came into the NBA, he had four years at Wake Forest under his belt and came into the league ready to dominate. Dwight is just now starting to get to a point where he can dominate on both ends of the floor. It takes time, you have to remember that he came straight out of high school.

And then you look at the other comparison you're making: Darko Milicic to David Robinson. You do realize that you're comparing a Hall of Famer to a guy that has had maybe one good stretch over half a season and is just now starting to come into his own.

It's a nice thought, but nothing similar to what the 99 Spurs were.

    Milicic Looks To Start

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">JACKSONVILLE -- Orlando Magic power forward Darko Milicic is going to have to earn his way into the starting lineup -- and he's working on it.

Milicic, 7 feet, 270 pounds, showed off his multifaceted game. He drained a 20-footer and then hit a running hook shot over rookie James Augustine during a controlled training-camp scrimmage today.

Milicic was working with the second group, despite the fact that starting power forward Tony Battie (sore right knee) did not scrimmage with the first team. Coach Brian Hill elected to put veteran Pat Garrity in Battie's place at power forward.

Asked if it was a big deal whether he started or not, Milicic, responded, curiously, "It is and it isn't."

Hill has been impressed with Milicic, who added about 10 pounds in the offseason.

While Milicic tends to favor shooting from the outside, despite his size, the Magic are trying to get him to post up more inside.

Small forward Hedo Turkoglu missed this morning practice with flu-like symptoms.</div>

Good to see Darko hungry and bulking up this offseason. I'm really looking forward to watching him progress and hopefully breakout this year.

With the way he played in the World Basketball Championships he has gained A LOT of confidence in his play and he's in shape and he won't come into the season all rusty like he did when he came to Orlando. Look for him to get 30-35 minutes even if he doesn't start.
