Well the swelling went down after 2 days, so I used crutches for 2 days. Today I went to school without them, but it sort of swelled up a bit from walking on it but nothing bad. Is it normal for it to pop, because everytime it pops I can rotate it a bit more without it hurting. I can put some weight on it, but if I walk flat footed, it hurts like a mofo. I think walking on it today did help it heal faster, but it also made it swell a bit when I stopped walking. I'm out of P.E. for a week, but should I be out a bit longer since we're doing basketball or should I go against my fierce competitive spirit and just not try hard?
If the sprain is too severe you should sit it out because you can only make it worse. I don't see how you needed crutches though? I walked around with a broken leg for a month without them, but I suppose I chose that because I hate having the crutches under my arms as it is uncomfortable more so then walking on the broken leg. lol Good luck dude, you should be back to your fitness level soon enough.

When I tried, the pain shot up from the middle of my foot all the way to my knee. I also hate crutches now too, they actually were hell of a lot of work.

I know you are going to want to, but I don't think your ankles tendons will be properly healed to deal with the types of movement and shocks that are involved when jogging, even light jumping, or quick turns. Its better to take it slow and have it heal properly than to keep reinjuring it and having it become a nagging injury.
