    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It's not polite to talk about people's weight - particularly Richard Jefferson's.

The Nets forward keeps hearing he looks like he bulked up over the summer, and he's sick of it. "Again," he said in an weary monotone, "I weigh the exact same today as I weighed last year at training camp. And the training camp before that."

But the Nets' third star is indeed looking to carry more weight, though not physically. Jefferson would like to be more involved this season than last, when his scoring average (19.5) dipped from his injury-abbreviated 2004-05 (22.2).

This is a potentially tricky spot for the Nets - finding enough shots for Jefferson and Vince Carter, two perimeter players. Training camp just started yesterday, and Lawrence Frank already has twice told reporters that "Richard, in our mind, is an All-Star."

But the coach is also preaching sacrifice. Frank points to the champion Heat, for whom Gary Payton, Alonzo Mourning and Antoine Walker selflessly turned into role players. "There's an example of guys sacrificing for the greater good," he said.

However, those players aren't entering their prime. At 26, Jefferson is. He said he focused on his ballhandling in the offseason so he could contribute more.

"We altered our offense toward Vince Carter, and me and him are somewhat similar," Jefferson acknowledged. "But he's better at coming off of screens; he's better at pick-and-rolls. So, in order to hopefully be incorporated more, I wanted to work on those things so we'd be more of a threat as a team in those situations."</div>

He's going to play the 4 more this year, because the Nets want to go small and be able to run as much as he can. He does weigh more than Collins now.

RJ is a great rebounder, now he has an oppurtunity to grab more boards and make the frontline productive in rebounding.

I have read that he outweighs Collins now. Collins lost a lot of weight though.
