I'm shocked. I'm not surprised that the Steelers have come out playing such a physical game, but I never imagined that the Colts' offensive line would be playing so poorly. If I were a Steelerfan, I wouldn't breathe easy while there is any time on the clock, but I really don't the Colts coming back with the way they are playing at the moment. Of course, as I'm typing this, Manning mans up and converts a 4th and 2.
And scoring a TD. We really need to buckle down and stay consistent. I'm so glad no one gave the Steelers a chance.... and I was called absurd for my 20-10 prediction. Very good game up to this point from the Black & Gold standpoint.
Alright.... 6 minutes left, 11 point lead, the Colts have the ball at their own 20. I'm still pretty nervous, but I feel good about the way we've played the first 54 minutes of the game. Time to settle in for the home stretch. Goooooooo Steelers!

The Steelers went unconventional on offense & forced the Colts to be one dimensional. This played right into what the Steelers D do best & that's apply pressure on the QB. To say the Colts had protection problems is an understatement, but give Lebeau credit for creating the confusion. The coaches on the other side needed to adjust & they didn't until the 2nd half. They mixed in some run & it finally gave Manning some time to go through his reads. That coupled with the horrible reversal of Polamalu's INT gave Indy hope. I'll admit I was rooting for the Colts to tie it up, but in the end I wanted Pitt to win. It would have been especially hard to swallow a Pitt loss had Bettis' final play of his career been that fumble.
Thanks Bakes. I know it takes a lot to swallow your pride sometimes especially after you had to swallow a 5 turnover game by your Pats. The hardest part for me all last week is that everyone thought I was wearing black & gold colored glasses and I'm a football fan. Yes, the Steelers are my team, but I'm very much into the X's and O's and felt as though Pittsburgh had the personel to beat the Colts. With great execution and coaching they did just that. On to Denver.... it's a little bit of a mystery here since this is one of the few playoff games that wasn't a rematch. These two teams do similar things well. It all depends on who can do them better I suppose. The Steelers D is more talented IMO. I'll take Ben over Jake 6 days a week and twice this Sunday. They have a good O-line and can run. I think Rod Smith is a great receiver, but I'm just not sure Denver has enough to counter all of the things Pittsburgh brings to the table. I think the only way Denver dominates in this game is if we find ourselves turning the ball over multiple times. If we win the turnover battle, we win the game.
