<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Magic say the design work for a $480 million downtown arena can begin before the first of the year if the project is given its final approval by next month. Magic Chief Operating Officer Alex Martins said Wednesday that the club hopes the Orange County Commission moves up its vote on the plan -- scheduled for December -- to sometime in November. Martins said the new arena, set to open in 2010, will be patterned largely after the FedEx Forum in Memphis, home of the Grizzlies, but the Magic "will make it unique for ourselves." Some unique features already are being discussed, such as an indoor-outdoor patio on the main concourse, where fans or concert patrons can see the Orlando skyline. There is also a plan in which club seating can be converted into additional loge boxes, should the demand arise. Naming rights up for bid Magic President Bob Vander Weide, attending Wednesday's practice, said two different groups are bidding to hold the naming rights for the current arena housing the Magic. TD Waterhouse Centre's contract expired Sept. 30. Vander Weide said he expected the new sponsor to be in place by the Nov. 1 regular-season opener. "We really want to put a good name on that building," he said. Martins said the new naming-rights sponsor will have the right-of-first refusal once the team moves into its new arena. Tickets on sale Friday Regular-season single-game tickets go on sale Friday at 8 a.m. Tickets range in price from $10 to $115 with 13 price points.</div> Source
