McCarthy dropped Rossley as the offensive coordinator which is no surprised. I guess the front runner to replace him is former Pitt Head Coach and current Bucs QB Coach Paul Hackett. McCarthy and him are very close and Hackett gave McCarthy his first shot in coaching.. Larry Beightol who I think is one of the best offensive line coaches in the NFL was also scratched today.. You can be sure he'll land a gig elsewhere.. There were many others but those were the two big names.. Jim Bates was not let go and neither were any of the coaches he brought over from Miami to coach the LB's and DL.. McCarthy and Bates had a meeting today with one another and I hope it went well.. I still think Bates would of made a better Head Coach but could imagine (assuming Bates' was TT's 2nd guy to McCarthy) having the top 2 candidates coaching your team. One running the offense and the other the defense.. That sounds very nice too me..
I got too say I like the moves. He got right down to business and fired 9 coaches yesterday and is meeting more today including Jim Bates and the guys he brought over from Miami. If McCarthy gets Bates and Favre back then he's got my vote of confidence..
If he gets Bates and Favre back I will be with him as well, I guess there is not much we can do, although I will still stick with my initial words, I hope McCarthy can do something for us.
The Packers officially hired their new O-Coordinator, Jeff Jagodzinski, he runs the Zone blocking scheme like Denver, this could be an immense signing. Link http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2291636
I like this hire. I love how Denver runs a zone blocking scheme and McCarthy stated he wanted to hire a coordinator with an offensive line backround.. Pretty much this wasn't my concern.. I want too see who'll be coaching the D. Hopefully Bates.
Looks like Jag spoke in a press conference today, he says that Clifton, Tauscher, and Flannigan should all be great in the Zone blocking scheme, he also hinted at getting some more athletic (GOOD) Gaurds, so Looks like Klemm is out (thank God!). I wonder if they'll take a shot at Steve Hutchinson.
