<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">John Hollinger, who writes for both ESPN and the New York Sun, has been the writer most critical of the Nets' prospects. He has even said New Jersey is nothing more than a .500 team. In his preseason review for the Sun, he continues the theme, questioning whether Jason Kidd has anything left in the tank, whether Vince Carter will head south, whether Jay Williams has lost too much, etc. Meanwhile, Dime, CBS Sportsline and FOX Sports have posted more optimistic, if shorter form, preseason analyses. </div>

Last season we were more than a .500 team, and now we actually have a bench and yet he claims we are just a .500 team. We shall see.

This guy an idiot! 500 team my ass. We're one of the top teams in the league, it's about time we get some damn respect.

I really don't think the Nets will get any better this year. This is as good as they are with an aging Kidd, and Carter, who will probably leave after the season is over. Let's face it, this team should have already been a bottom feeder and Carter came in to save it's life. They can only get to the first round and get knocked out by a better team. Let's hope Carter goes to Dallas and bring back a championship there.

Kidd may be aging, but he has shown no sign of slowing down. Vince will have a career year. He will have to prove he is worthy of a conract extinsion. So if Kidd doesn't play as good, Carter will make up for it. Vince going to the Mavs? What have you been smoking? That's one of the last teams he will go to. If he leaves it will be for the Heat, Bobcats, or the Magic.

I'm not sure that they can afford him and neither can Dallas.
