I'm planning to go there. Hopefully I can avail one of those free passes for authograph sessions.

Ima be there with some friends too. We got school, but sometimes there are more important things than school like the Rockets. I might get there around 11, and just wait the hour until they open.

Well that was fun. Who else went? I did not expect that many people to be their since it was on a Monday, I guess people still get Columbus Day off.

My friends saw everyone walking to the front of the line so we followed them and just got in the front. Some guy was bitching at us but we didn't care. It paid off, the peole in the front of the lines were given tickets for autograph sessions with the players. My ticket was Rafer Alston and Luther Head. They seemed annoyed while signing autographs, but I understand why.

The first hour was just ticket promotions, videos of the Rockets highlights, random fans shooting half court jumpers. You know, that kind of stuff.

Finally the players came out. Everyone was there except Yao Ming. They did their shoot-around and then started a 5 on 5 game.

    Key notes during the game:

-Skip made one open 3, but missed 2 other slightly contested/open jumpers.

-Vassilis was sort of show boating, and did a pump fake (pulled his leg up and then back) and shot a 3. He air balled. This drove JVG crazy. He had his face burried in his hands and he was ready to pull out what was left from his hair. C'mon VG this is the first time he played for his fans. Let him have fun.

-T-Mac only played like 3 min and had one nice alley-oop. It did look planned, but it was still nice. He made both of his FTs but missed a couple other contested jumpers.

-Novak did not really impress me with his 3 point shooting. This guy gets paid to shoot and I believe he went 1/3.

-Kelenna Azubuike really impressed me. He is a hard nosed player that works for every bucket.

-Bonzi posted up V-Span and ofcourse got the bucked and 1. He looked lonely on the bench with no one sitting on his right, or left side. I bet he misses that $32 mil he walked of in Sac-Town.

-Battier hustled. Ryan Bowen x10 is what I saw today.

-Padgett missed his one open 3. Should we give Bonner another call?

-Head impressed me. He hit both of his 3s and one was highly contested.

-Deke looked winded 4-5 minutes into the game.

-Howard hit his FTs, and I'm not sure if he hit his jumpers. I saw him miss one.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.[IMG]

I just got back. I had some fun there, and I got Bonzi's autograph. The whole time I kept chanting "Ryan Bowen!", "Put Ryan Bowen in!", and "Let Ryan Bowen play!". He never got to play, but I still got Ryan Bowen's attention. [IMG]

Dude, I was sitting in the first row (right before the metal folding chairs). Were you sitting in the row directly behind me? 2nd row. You were like there with some guys who kept saying PUT BATTIER IN! LETS GIVE HAYES SOME LOVE, and screamed for Bonzi and Bowen especially.

I thought you were joking about putting Ryan Bowen in. I was the kid who kept laughing at JVG everytime Lucas/Novak/Span did something he didn't like.

Thanks for the report igotask8board, but I would take the players' performances with a grain of salt. After all, this was of no importance at all and players were out there just to have some fun themselves, and make sure the fans have fun. Most were probably playing at 10%. The preseason games will be a much better indicator of what shape the players are in and their abilities.

Way to selfishly cut in the line, jerk. The autograph ticket you got might have rightfully belonged to some little kid that was there an hour before you were. One thing is for sure: it didn't belong to you. But I bet your argument is that it was ok because everyone else was doing it, right? Give me a break.

Not that you care, but you lost quite a bit of respect from me due to this.

I was not down for the whole cutting in line. If I knew that was what they were doing, we (at least I would) have stayed put as we were already early enough and had a good spot. Like I said, my friend saw everyone walking to the front so he followed them. He called us and told us to come up there. To be honest I didn't know what was going on until I saw him in the front...

NP, and I agree. This doesn't mean anything. The only thing I wouldn't "take with a grain of salt" is Skip missing his jumpshots. Just expect the worst from him and his jumper, and it can only go uphill from there.

I got the same stub too. Me, my love one and my friends sat on the 108 section. Too bad I have to go around the arena to redeem my autograph passes which was on section 122 for Head and Alston signatures. My friend who had extra stub gave me his and went to the other lane but it was Haryasz and VSpan. I was'nt able to get there on time. Good thing my love one got TMac's signature as well as photos of him on her cellphone.

On the scrimmage itself looks like everyone was a little bit rusty or probably they don't want to play physical to avoid injuries especially with preseason happening tommorow. I think TMac, Shane and Bonzi played just 5-8 minutes on the floor. TMac got the highlight dunk of the day. VSpan is still adjusting and was a little bit nervous that he missed both of his FT attempts.

On the hopefuls. Azuibuke made a slight impression on his slashing to the basket move. Jacobsen made his first few shots while Haryasz seems to be overmatched and outhustled. Scott Padgett played fairly if not below average. Too many fouls were called on the rookies/newbies and hopefuls which comprises the red team(although they're wearing black). Lucas though on his second season was on the red team while Padgett was on the white team.

With his toe nail removed, Yao did not play as well as Bowen and Sura. Now until the end of the month will probably determined if anyone on the regular roster would be bought out and released providing opportunites to hopefuls like Jacobsen, Azuibuke, Haryasz and Padgett. Sura and Bowen might be those top candidate.

Just so everyone knows, I believe the players had a real practice and possibly some weight training before the scrimmage. That's probably a big factor in why things looked sloppy and a lot of shots were coming up short rather than long. Everybody was just tired. I remember last year when they came out their jerseys were soaked in sweat already.
