Although with Hinrich, that?s just about what you get. He can run both guard spots, depending on who?s out there with him. He?s got playoff experience, World Championship experience, and missed winning a college title by three lousy points. A member of the heralded 2003 draft class, he was the only one of that group to stack a triple-double as a rookie. You?d be hard-pressed to find anyone more Midwest than Cap?n Kirk (too bad he didn?t go to Duke?then I could call him Kirk Cameron). Born and raised in Iowa, he excelled at Sioux City West?leading them to a state title?before joining fellow Iowa Mr. Basketball Nick Collison at Kansas. Four years there prepped him well for Chicago, where he rapidly became a key piece in the Bulls latest and greatest rebuilding effort. He was also one of the reasons that four-time Defensive Player of the Year Ben Wallace chose to sign with Chicago. Only 25 years old, Hinrich averaged 16 points and 6 boards last season in 81 games. He makes the right decisions and the right passes, and is rock-solid on D. A little more work on his outside shot?he?s only shooting 40 percent from the floor for his career?and he?ll be the total package.</div> http://slamonline.com/online/2006/10/30-kirk-hinrich/
Kidd is a bit passed his prime, so I don't see that as an error. However, both Kidd and Kirk are too low and the article itself is poor.

I agree with you M Two One. Very poorly written article. On the topic of why Hinrich's underrated. I'm not completely sure, but my first assumption is that Chicago is filled with so much talent, that people tend to shy away from giving a single player a lot of credit. I'm not completely convinced by that, though. What I found odd was the way Chris Paul got so much hype as the next great pass-first point guard, while people conveniently forgot Kirk.

Kirk Hinrich is probably the most underrated player in the league he never gets the credit he deserves for what he does on both sides of the ball. Although, he is not our game breaker come clutch time. If it was not for Hinrich’s consistent play throughout 48 minutes, we would not win nearly as many games as we do.

J Kidd used to be able to hit a jumper now and then, he doesnt even come close anymore. As for Kirk, I feel he gets overlooked mainly becuase of how clutch Ben is. We always see Ben on Sportscenter hitting the game winner and stuff like that, so nobody but Bulls fans really see how big a part Kirk plays. But I think that is starting to change, especially with him making the World Championship roster and stuff like that.
