Vanderjagt was fighting the tears back after that missed FG. The kick wasn't even close to being accurate. I do feel sorry for the guy though, that's got to be tough.

dude he slammed his helmet on the ground...why is it that the best kickers tend to miss in the most important plays...

It's tough for any kicker in that situation. I do feel for Dungy & Manning even more. Those guys deserve to get a ring and will have many chances to get back here again. Vanderjagt gave back the game that should have been won already.

i think that game was set up because of the terrible challenge call and bettis who usually doesnt fumble fumbled.

Ben did such a great job of tackling that guy. Harper could have easly cut it back up the other way and ended your season

Hmm I like how BF1 thinks the bears would win...lmao...Well Kicking sucks. I think its a good position but come on. Make the field goal when it counts.

He pulled a Jay Feely in the playoffs... How low can it get? Nevermind, Nate Kaeding did that last year, LOL!

Not to nitpick, but the best kickers don't miss the most important plays. Kickers have one job, and if they can't excel under the most important conditions (which is when the game is on the line), then they are not a good kicker.

Paul Edinger, IMO, is a better kicker. Sure, he missed a lot of easy kicks this year, but when the game was on the line three times during the regular season he was good from very long distances (long of 56 yards). I will take a kicker who is good in the clutch any day over a kicker who regularly misses key fieldgoals.

With that said, I think this was an abberation and that Vanderjagt, given 10 of those kicks makes 8 or 9. Bad day for him, unlucky break.

Something about the way he opened his stance? Shanked it like hitting a golf ball. Go figure. The Colts fans will be thinking for 8 months that they would have won if he had made that field goal, but the bottom line is that it should have never ended up that close.

Did anyone see where the laces were when Vanderjagt kicked the ball? I've heard "somewhere" that the laces should be out. [IMG]
