    <div class="quote_poster">Air Fresh Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why I think Wayne is good?

His flow is nice, has multiple flows on some tracks.

Wayne's Punchlines are nice, he always have that line that just makes me go back and be like wow I never even realized he was saying that.

Music you can bump to, like play loud in your car.

Has shown versatility in raps, makes the songs for the ladies, the street records, the sentimental records.

Typical reasons to why anybody would like a rapper.</div>

I don't enjoy his flow at all....and who the hell still pumps music in their car like that, you get garbage thrown at ur car for that in my area. I can honestly say the only hip hop albums from the last few years that i still listen to are "The Game - Documentary", "Gangstarr - The Ownerz", and Ems stuff. Ems newer stuff dosen't compare to his older stuff, but its still listenable, other then his singles. I hate how people now like Mobb Deep cause Infamous, and Hell On Earth were amazing albums, and should be listened to for anyone who likes East coast rap.
Most of todays rappers are only trying to sell albums (can u blame them?) so they are forced to come out with club hits, thats why true hip hop fans find it tought to find good new stuff. Stick with some underground stuff.

Idk about in Canada, but in America we bump our music in our whips, and nobody is gonna throw anything at your car either.

Think of it as a big headphone then. Today it was raining, but my music was still loud even with the windows closed. It's not to show off or anything.

Rock, techno, bhangra. Most music sounds good with the volume loud.

I do live in Brampton. Anything important is reached by a highway. There's plenty of time spent driving.

btw Fresh, how would you rate "Stuntin' Like My Daddy" in comparison to other Lil Wayne songs. I'm praying that it was an anomaly.

<div class="quote_poster">Franchise4Ever Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Fact is something that can be proven. You can't prove that someone is boring, delivers weak, has confusing lyrics, etc.</div>

Yes you can. If some one delivers those things, then they've proven it, Lil' Wayne has proven he has all of those aspects I mentioned. I wouldnt just come in here and say them for no reason. I have nothing against the guy personally, I just dont like his music, because it is terrible. Wether you like it or not is completley different subject, like some guy on here said his favourite Album was a Lil' Jon album, now 99% of Hip-Hop enthusiasts will tell you Lil' Jon isnt a rapper, but he still likes it, so go figure.

It's like saying 50 Cent is a good freestyler, because he released a song that has "Freestyle" at the end of the title, but everyone who has seen him try, knows 50 Cent couldnt freestyle to save his life. Thats a fact, not an opinion.

Try and tell me Lil' Wayne sits on the same level as guys like Guru, Nas, Jay-Z, Rakim, Mos Def etc. All proven MC's.

I liked DREAM's comment the most, in that I could say Robert Swift is the greatest player the NBA has ever seen, now its my opinion yes, but we all know for a fact Robert Swift isnt the greatest player of all time.

uhh, you're wrong again dude. Music and basketball are different. Music is an art form, basketball is a SPORT - with numbers that say how good you are. It's true you can't say Robert Swift is the best all time because his numbers aren't there. But art or music does not have a number scheme to how "good" you are. The fact is that throughout history there have been artists that have been considered "bad" by a lot of people at the time, and then as time goes by have been considered "good". for example, Black Sabbath got terrible critical reviews when they came out, and are now considered to be the greatest heavy metal band - EVER. Also, Madonna was seen as bubblegum throwaway pop when she came out, now she is an icon of pop music. Hitchcock was not considered the best filmmaker back in the day, but now is regarded as the Master of suspense.

you cannot put a value judgment on art like that. it's ALL opinion.

seriously bro you keep coming with this argument about facts that is just plain WRONG. hit the textbooks before you come back with that argument. facts must be proven by SCIENTIFIC data, i.e. NUMBERS, not "most hip-hop purists would say he sucks" - that has proven nothing scientifically.

i personally have the same taste in hip-hop as you, but you need to learn what a real "fact" is.

So you're telling me Lil' Wayne is actually "the greatest rapper alive", because he claims he is, so I guess since there are no facts in music, you cant prove otherwise, right?

C'mon, do you understand how stupid your argument actually is? What you're saying is, if I were to come here, and say "Lil' Jon is the greatest rapper of all time, he has the BEST flow and lyricism out of any other rapper dead or alive. . ." then that would be correct, but, it is not correct, as Lil' Jon is 1. a producer, not a rapper and 2. all he ever says is "What!?" and "Yeah!!".

Opinions can be wrong, my opinion is that Lil' Wayne is a terrible rapper, correct, but its also a fact, because he doesnt live up to any of the standards set by the legends and innovaters of Hip-Hop such as Nas, Rakim, Jay-Z, Notorious B.I.G, Tupac, KRS-One etc. etc.

Here is an example of what I'm talking about, I just randomly picked this song, its called "Bring It Back" ft. Mannie Fresh:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[Lil Wayne]
Well, I'm fly as a son of gun son of a stunna
Yeah, high as a 757 goin to heaven
Who, Weezy F. ya reverend, preach about me
    I'm the god, 1 - 7, Apple & E
I'm the Cash Money Mackeveli, yall ain't ready
Quick fast like Tom Petty, yall just petty
82 I was born ready, I'm too ready
I don't affiliate with baller blockers I'm to heavy
    Meatball Lamborghini top spaghetti
    Seats Ragu, 20 the shoe
Who me and you got plenty to do
I don't need no pool I swimming in you
And I sleep with the sharks shawty on that water water
And the Beamer ain't hundred-forty mama shake for me
And it don't make sense if it don't make that money
I'ma take that money, I'm straight Cash Money (young Ladies!!!)</div>

Now here is a segment by Guru (Gang Starr) from the song "JFK to LAX":

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yo they got me handcuffed, I'm down in central booking
Things are f*cked up, the way my future's looking
But I'm too fly, I'ma change this scenario
Make some power moves and tighten up my bankroll
Chumps are leary though, they see me as a threat
I'm like the black Dutch Schultz when you get me upset
Five-oh makes me wanna flip, Larry Davis style
Got a ***** depressed, while he's awaitin trial
It's OK though, cause from grey skies comes blue
Through darkness comes light and I be known as the Guru
And this I certify we all should be alerted by
the traps within the system, our youth is gettin murdered by
the D.A. says they got me on a felony
I'm tryin to live my life, so what the **** is you tellin me?
The streets are war, that's what brothers carry weapons for
And I take the weight as I did before
The next thing you know, they got me on the radio
A rapper arrested, suckers showin me on video
Of course I know, that I'm a role model
But yo this rap life is real life sometimes it's full throttle
Right now I gotta think about me **** the industry
You gets no love, except those who support me
What's the story, what happened when I went to L.A.?
Mixin **** up, no not there I got family
Nothin happened, mind your business yo step
You know we connect, JFK 2 LAX</div>

Now tell me Lil' Wayne's lyrics are as complex as that.

On the subject of Lil Wayne, he's either ghey or extremely comfortable with his sexuality.

Oh and NTC, are you sure you didn't confuse the Lil' Wayne lyrics with Umairs' battle lyrics?

Nobody said Lil' Wayne's lyrics were complex. It is a fact that most of his songs are very weak in subject matter, but I just like the confidence he has when he raps about the stuff he does rap about. Most of Jay Z's rhymes are not complex either, but people still like him because of the syle he has of his own.

Everybody can't be the same, just because Wayne doesn't have the complexity of some of the rappers you listed doesn't mean he can't be a good rapper.

Before I said he was the "best rapper alive", well I definitely take that back because I realized Wayne is what he is. He is going to talk about money, hos, cars, and guns. I just happen to like the way he does it, by the way of his punchlines ect. But he is definitely far from the best.

No he isn't on the level of people like Nas, Rakim, or Mos Def. His style is far different from theirs, I'd rather listen to someone who is good with their own style, than to be a bad wanna-be.

By the way Chutney, I like the song Stuntin Like My Daddy, the chorus sounds pretty wack, but I like Wayne's two verses. I mean it's nothing lyrical but its nice imo. "How you want it, show me my opponent *eating noise* done with my opponent" [IMG]

[IMG] So true, I had the same look when I saw that picture. Wayne is even tilting his head like chicks do when they look up to you to kiss.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Air Fresh:</div><div class="quote_post">That was lame. fall back.</div>

Not as lame as these lyrics from "Fireman."

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Lil Wayne - Fireman:</div><div class="quote_post">
    Mama gimme that brain
    Mama gimme that good
    Cause I'm the fireman
You hear the firetruck etc... etc....
    </div>

They are pretty similar to these Umair lyrics:

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Umair:</div><div class="quote_post">My sister aint a hoe, your momma is one, which is fo'sho
She got a nice booty, which go up and down
She is so fugly, she look like a clown
    She is a little flirty
But gets in the bed and knows how to get dirty
    She did a split
So i got my hands, and grabbed her tits!
    They were big and wobbly
But I just grabbed em softly..
    It was nice and fun
We woke up in the morning together and watched the sun</div>

Sorry about that Umair but I'm sure you can laugh at yourself. [IMG]

Oh, Air Fresh would you consider T.I and Wayne to have similar styles? If so, T.I is better at that "style" than Wayne.

TI style is different, he has a nice flow, rarely has stand out lines.

    Wayn'es lines stand out.

Fireman isn't a good song, but neither is "Im'a show you how to get ya shine on!!!!" Every Chamill song I've heard the N is singing on the hook. I mean you can say its his style, but he is a rapper not a damn singer. Ish gets annoying quick.

The Rip one. Also, those two dudes who just turned their heads away in disgust were pretty funny too.
