OK! deshawn stevenson is one of my alltime favorite magic players because of all the hustle he brought to this team in his 2+ seasons here. when johnny davis had him on the bench for a lot of time 2 years ago he never complained and waited patiently until chris jent took over and started him and gave him big minutes. last year deshawn was 1 of 2 magic players to start all 82 games and 1 of three to play in all 82 (dwight started 81 but played 82). his hustle on both ends of the floor will be missed and when the wizards come to town im cheering for deshawn, and if it wasnt for his crack baby agent he would still be here helping us in every way possible. this thread is dedicated to tracking deshawn's stats throughout the preseason, season, and postseason.

the wizards lost their pre-season opener at home to the toronto raptors yesterday by a final score of 93-88.

    DESHAWNS STATS: pts: 8, rbs: 0, asts: 2, fg: 3/4, 3pt fg: 0/1, mins: 21, fls: 5, tos: 4...started at 2

Not a bad start for Deshawn. It's hard to measure a players performance since the coaches will be trying a bunch of different things and you never know how many minutes a player is going to get. I'm happy to hear that he is starting and I wish him luck. His stats probably won't be great just because he's Arenas, Jamison, and Butler are all scoring threats but I hope he can develop some chemistry with those guys and do some damage (as long as it's not against the Magic [IMG]).

Deshawn looked fine on offense. He was able to take his defender 1 on 1 on a couple of plays where he scored. On the fouling and turnovers, it will improve, that's what the pre-season is all about. Preparing yourself for the season and making progress as you go along.

I don't have a problem with any of ur threads?? I hope it doesn't seem that way to you. I personally can't stand DeShawn Stevenson though. It has nothing to do with you.

Deshawn's a really underrated player, Orlando will miss him this year. IMO he's worth 3.5-4 million a year. He was the best defender on this team last year and still scored 11 a game and just think all of that was on a bad knee.

while playing all 82 games btw! that's something you can't practice, that's determination to help your team, that's heart

He didn't have a bad knee the WHOLE SEASON!!

I don't really like DeShawn because he was always complaining about not scoring enough and not starting. When he started, he wanted more minutes. He really isn't that GOOD of a defender. I've seen a bunch of Magic games to know this. He was the best perimeter defender along with Dooling on our team, but wasn't that good anyways.

I'm not really a big DeShawn fan anyway. I hope he does well in Washington though. He got 10 points in 10 min.? How come he didn't play any longer? Or do you know?

Well, the Wizards aren't even sure if they wanna start Stevenson or not. They are playing him around seeing if he should start. They really don't need him playing 30+mins now. Like you said MagicRules12, I don't personally like him but I wish him the best.

If Deshawn had ever been a big numbers guy, I'd care, but as long as he can hit shots when he get's them, not turnover the ball, and defend, I'm not expecting any 16-4-4, 2 steal type games from him.
