http://docs.google.com An online (lite) version of Microsoft Word and Excel made by Google. If you log in with your Gmail account, you can work on your school papers online. One of the best features is everything is saved on Google's servers automatically, so there's no risk of losing your work! If you're working on group papers, you can share and have all the editing done to the same document. It was pretty damn helpful for my last few papers in college. Check it out...its free!
Man, google is teh shi-ite! They have other cool features as well, like GoogleScholar, not to mention the fact that they just bought up YouTube... Talk about market domination.
That's really nice, should be very helpful with being able to type papers at school then finish at home or a friends house or another computer. Saves the hassle of having to save it onto a floppy, usb flash memory, or e-mail it and it won't get lost if you have to wipe your hard drive.
wow, this is perfect timing for me... my new Word xp has been acting up on me recently so i had to resort to using the crappy wordpad. The fact that I have a ton of essay assignments coming up doesn't help the situation.... so thanks for posting this man
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that you can upload your current documents to Google Docs as well as download. Just keep in mind that's its a "lite" version of Word/Excel so it doesn't quite have all those bells & whistles...but it has all the basic stuff that's good enough for 90% of your school work anyways.
<div class="quote_poster">Bahir Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">My guess is that the next thing Google will buy is Wikipedia...</div> Actually I think they'll play around with their own Encyclopedia system first, sort of what they did with Google Video before they bought YouTube. My guess would be that they'll buy some sort of major instant communication service (AIM or MSN), but that might be months, maybe years away before AOL and MSN are ready to turn that over.
