JS ONLINE-- "I know I can start," said the 6-foot-9 veteran, who is entering his ninth season. "I know I can play backup. I can play (power forward and center). I'm not really worried about it." Read More...
He truly is vital for us; now with Bogut hurt at the start of the year, he's going to be getting heavy minutes as the backup 5, because Danny isn't used to playing a ton of minutes. We're also going to need him at the 4 when we go to a bigger lineup, and I could see that happening often. We could go with Gadz at the 5, Skinner at the 4 and CV at the 3, when we're up against a team that is strong in the paint. I think he's going to play at least 20 minutes a night, not like the crap 12 minutes we gave Danny last year. He was outstanding for us in 2003, and I don't see why he can't be just as big a contributor for us this year. He's easily the most physical post player we've got, and he's got the bulk to bang with just about anyone in the East. He's going to be a key for us.
Skinner has been underrated and underused everywhere he's been. He's the type of player that I would want on my team (especially the Raps). He can bang down low forever and crash the boards with his great size and strength. He has great hustle and determination on D and when crashing the boards. This is a great chance to prove himself to the Bucks again.
