I'm not going to make a poll, because there are probably going to be multiple answers coming from some people, so I'll just list some guys down:

    Allen Iverson, Philadelphia
    Kevin Garnett, Minnesota
    Jason Kidd, New Jersey
    Steve Nash, Phoenix
    Tracy McGrady, Houston
    Paul Pierce, Boston
    Vince Carter, New Jersey
    Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas

There are some other guys too. I'm not talking about guys like LeBron or Dwayne Wade, who are in their early 20's. I'm talking about guys who are in or past their prime, with a great career, but are missing a championship ring.

I will have to say Tracy McGrady. Even though he has never been past the first round, I will still say Tmac. Out of all those teams his team has the best chance to win a championship. Rockets are as good as Nets imo, but I just dont see Nets beating Miami or Pistons. Rockets are capable of doing that. With the team they have established, they can be as good as Miami/Spurs/Suns, but Nets, imo cant get past Miami/Pistons. If Rockets were in East, then i would say that Rockets may not get to the finals, and I would say Nets might have a chance at it, but its the fact that Rockets are in West, which is the reason why I am saying Rockets have a chance to win the championship. So back to my point, I am saying that McGrady has the best chance out of any of those players, and he has the type of team that capable of winning a championship.

Aside from Jason Kidd, none of those players is really a veteran. Most of them are in their prime right now. If I had to choose one from that list, I'd probably say Steve Nash.

I'd say Steve Nash, Tmac, and Jason Kidd (if he gets traded or signs with another team later on)

but maybe you are being objective. TMac has a chance, I guess, but how do you envision him doing it - with Yao in this current rockets team?

Dirk Nowitzki has a good shot. Steve Nash. I think McGrady and the Rockets are capable of winning a championship, if they're healthy and the chemistry is right. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Steve Nash might win it all this year, Jason Kidd and my favourite Vince Carter are pretty good. They are my favourite.

Not only Yao, but Battier and Wells. I feel that, like Durvasa said, Rockets are capable of winning a championship, if they're healthy and the chemistry is right. If they can do that, then they are the best team out of all those player's teams you metioned. Rockets can be as good as they want to, only things they need to do, are stay healthy and have a good chemistry.

Team Chemistry and Health aren't just thinsg you snap your fingers and get. Even if the Rockets stay healthy (Chances of that?) i doubt chemistry will come. They've added Wells, a player in what is really his last big contract year and is only truely effective with the ball in his hands and Battier, a brilliant role player, who as it looks will be played out of position for parts of games. Adjusting to new roles alone should take the team well into the seond month of play. (In saying this Wells could have extra desire and break out into last seasons playoff form again, and Battier could take to the PF role at which his played at before with ease). Alstons shooting is also in my mind highly influential, if hes spreading teams D watch out.

If Houston does win though it wont be on the back of a home court advantage from a strong regular season. With a weekish bench compared to other elite teams, the starters will need to log big minutes for this team to have a top 3 record in the west and with houstons injury plagued past i dont see them risking fatigue caused injuries (especially to McGrady).

In saying this i do think the team has what it takes to do it all in the playoffs.
Any team with Yao and McGrady alone can do damage. Add in Battier and Wells this team has some power.

So in rambling all this off, ive got T-Mac and Nash has my two favourites out of them. Other then them only KG has a chance honestly and only if hes traded.

    Flame away?

Considering the team they currently play on, I'd say Jason Kidd/Vince Carter (assuming they stay together at New Jersey) or Steve Nash with Phoenix. T-Mac and Yao just don't have enough support to go far and the Rockets seem out of synch on the court. Allen Iverson won't get a ring with the Sixers and niether will Garnett with the Wolves. As for Paul Pierce, I just don't see him winning a championship with him at the helm.

Can you explain to me how the Nets front court will stop that of the West, The Duncans, Nowitski's, Brands, Marions, Stoudamires(We Hope), YAOS!.

Don't get me wrong im not having a go im simply asking whether you think Nenad Kristic can get the Nets not only out of the East against Shaq but then top the Wests best.

Me I think the Nets have arguably best 1-3 in the game as a combo but when Cliff Robinson is yrou defensive big man, come on.

P.S. Does anyone think Nets management is kicking themselves on passing up on SAR?

I think Dirk and Nash have the best chances of winning a title before retiring because they both are on championship caliber teams already and they have atleast 5+ years ahead of them. T-Mac can also get a title because he's still like 28 or 29, he just needs to stay healthy

For a second there I thought you were talking about Steve Francis. [IMG] So sad to see whats become of him, and to hear what the NY fans think of him. PoseStarbury should be coming off the bench.

    <font size="1">"Allen Iverson, Philadelphia</font>
    <font size="1">Kevin Garnett, Minnesota</font>
    <font size="1">Jason Kidd, New Jersey</font>
    <font size="1">Steve Nash, Phoenix<EXCEPT this guy and irk NoDvitzki</font>
    <font size="1">Tracy McGrady, Houston</font>
    <font size="1">Paul Pierce, Boston</font>
    <font size="1">Vince Carter, New Jersey"</font>

All those guys deserve something more.

KG and PP never really had a chance at a title. The one year KG did, he had to face the 3peat Lakers.

My money goes to KG and PP if they get traded, or something happens which drastically makes there team better.

With the current situations I would bet on either Nash or Dirk.

Out of this group, the most likely is Nash as he has the best team, and he's followed by Tmac who has Yao and a good team around him, and has a chance himself.

Nash, Dirk, T-Mac, they all have good chances. Out those 3, I think Dirk has the best chance.

Well JC may suck on offense, but he is one of the best defensive bigs out there. He does the best job on Shaq of any guy in the league IMO.
