WHO: @ WHEN: Friday, October 13, 2006 8:00 PM EST WHERE: Ford Center, Oklahoma City, OK WHAT: Pre-season Game #2 for the Orlando Magic STARTING LINEUPS: PG: SG: SF: PF: C: COACHES: ORLANDO MAGIC (1-0): The Magic are coming into friday's game against the Hornets with a lot of confidence as they are coming off of a dismantling of the Charlotte Bobcats, 109-90. In that game 6 key Magic players didn't dress, including starting point guard Jameer Nelson and rookie guard, JJ Redick. Dwight Howard led the Magic with 18 points and 10 rebounds in just 24 minutes of action and Grant Hill, who seems to finally be healthy (knock on wood) poured in 16 in just 18 minutes of playing time. Look for Orlando to pound the ball down low to Howard and Milicic to get some easy baskets against the thin frontline of New Orleans (they only have 1 good shot-blocker in Tyson Chandler). Jameer Nelson, Hedo Turkoglu, J.J. Redick, and Trevor Ariza are not expected to play as they're all resting injuries. Nelson is expected back next game, Turkoglu can play but the team is waiting for blood and urine samples to come in, and Redick and Ariza are both going to be out another week resting their foot injuries. NEW ORLEANS/OKLAHOMA CITY HORNETS (1-0): The Hornets are coming off of a come from behind victory on the road against the defending western conference champion Dallas Mavericks. The 15th overall pick in this years draft, Cedric Simmons hit the go ahead bucket with 1 minute remaining to seal the 87-84 victory for the Hornets against the short-handed Mavericks, who played without Dirk Nowitzki, Jerry Stackhouse, and Devin Harris. The Hornets are short-handed themselves, resting free-agent signee forward, Peja Stojakovic. PREDICTION:MAGIC:101, HORNETS: 93
Good thread, man. I can't wait until tomorrow. I really hope that we can pull this out. the player that we really need to watch out for is Chris Paul.
i dont see him playing much tomorrow...9 minutes in first qtr, 6 in the second, 6 in the third, and if the game is a blowout sits out 4th and if it's close, the last 3 minutes...i dont see him logging more than 25 minutes tomorrow
Yea, to early in preseason to play big minutes. I cant wait for us to play with a full team, so we can see what this team really looks like.
no he was coming off the bench...scored 19 to lead all scorers...my prediction was actually closer than i thought it would be...predicted 101-93, actual score was 100-85...lets see if we can beat SAS tomorrow
