Lewis seems to be going after rebounds more this year. I haven't seen a game yet...but atleast from the box it seems like it. I also read that Rashard looks to be more comfortable handling the ball so far. Let's hope this translates into the season, and carries throughout.
Collison looked great last night for the Sonics on offense. He didn't hesistate to shoot from the top of the key and drain open looks all game long. Defensively, he really struggled against Turiaf. He was getting sealed and giving up uncontested baskets to Ronny. Overall the Sonics interior defense was getting shoved around by the Lakers. Once Wilcox went to the bench, the Sonics lost control of the paint. Shard was fantastic last night on both ends of the court. Robert Swift showed some flashes, but he's still too, lanky and doesn't have the lower body strength to hold position. He's a lot more effective shotblocking off the weakside, but when he has to defend a back to the baskt scorer, he's overwhelmed. These players looked terrible for Seattle: Adeleke - None existent on defense and offense, he got yanked quick by Hill Palacio - He was getting worked by Jordan Farmar Petro - Still has the bad habit of leaving his feet to get the shotblock. He bites on every head fake. 5 fouls in just 8 minutes.
I would like to see the combo of Collison and Wilcox on the floor more often as well. If Nick continues to hit his jumper, it should provide more opportunities inside. Nick Collison is on a mission...
