CHI SUNTIMES -- ''They're just not going to allow guys to do something they interpret as showing up the referee -- hand gestures, excessive complaining and all that stuff. Read More...
So if someone scratches their face in a strange manner I suppose it will result in a tech. You know it is bound to happen sometime anyway then the league will be in deep BS.
According to Rasheed Wallace the rule was made just for him. He feels the league is picking on him, and because they made a rule just for him, he must be doing something right.

I?ve noticed Richard Jefferson, Sam Cassell, Allen Iverson, and others cry allot. But what annoys me is that the crying works in the favor of the player. Some players have the skill to persuade refs. If refs just admitted when they made mistakes. I remember when a foul was just excessive contact. Now it?s harder and harder for the refs. Because any touch is a foul. So if player barley touches another the whistle is blown. But it may also look like a player is grazed when he isn?t because of the angle. Therefore resulting in a bogus call. The players get angry then you get a ticky tack tech. It?s like an endless circle that is meant to stop the clock. Back in the day a foul was obvious now its left up to the interpretation of the ref. But this is a plow to extended the length and score s of games. Not for the actual benefit of the "GAME" I could ramble about this for pages and pages

Anyways, it's kind of unfair IMO. Obviously it may take some of the whining away, but what happens when refs make horrible calls? We've all seen it happen. So if the ref makes a horrible call, and the player complains by just throwing his hands in the air, is that going to be a T?
