It was on 51 (local) which is channel 2 on regular cable.

I was watching the game on and off, and really liked Novak's shooting.

I'm starting to get the feeling that V-Span is not going to pan out this season. I know its just 2 preseason games, but his turnover problem has always been there. We cant just expect it to go away by the ASB. His inability to knock down the wide open three is a serious flaw that will hurt our team. Once he remedies these flaws, I don't see why he wouldn't get significant minutes.

I was able to watch the game on channel 51(satellite). It was just confusing at first because the program scheduled for that time was "Cheaters" but when you go to that channel they're actually showing the Rockets vs Hawks game.

Nice win by the Rockets. They almost lose the ballgame early in the fourth when they could not get anything going with Billy(VSpan) manning the point. Like Matt Bullard and Bill Worell have said Billy needs more time familiarizing his teammates especially when dishing off assist inside the paint. Although the pass was good Hayes and Mutombo was'nt able to catch and convert the assist. He also got called for 2 or 3 travelling violations same as the last time. There's no problem with his defense but running the point as well as positioning for offense he seems a little bit lost.

The bench was did very well this time. Head, Lucas and Snyder had a good game. Lot of 3s was thrown. I think they converted 13 or 14 of those. TMac played only in the first half. Rafer was impressive also. I think he's confident in running the team for the coming season. He'll gonna have lots of assist especially when Bonzi and Yao plays.

    Rockets win baby.
V-Span sucked that game. In a span of 2 minutes, he got ripped, packed the mess out of, and got a turnover. He got me mad a few times. He didn't play well. I really like Novak. I think JVG went up to him and was like, "I just want you to shoot 3's" [IMG] The kid can flat out shoot. Like whenever he gets the pass, he takes the quick 3 and nails it. He hurries it up, and hits. Head played awesome. Rafer got his touch back. But I liked Novak, because of his 3's.

Here's the box score for anyone interested.

I did not see the game, but from a few things pop out at me when looking at the boxscore.

-Our PGs seem to be turnover-prone (Rafer-5 TO's in 22 mins, Lucas- 4 in 19
mins, V-Span- 3 in 8 mins). All 3 had more TO's than assists.
-Considering that Lucas took 13 shots in only 19 mins, I'm assuming that he is
    not a pass-first PG.
-Hayes- fouled out in 15 minutes. WOW. Did he start at center?
-V-Span- not a great game. Negative contribution.
-It looks like the best players in this game were Head, Snyder, and T-Mac.

Novak, 2 rebounds in 27 minutes? I thought that he'd have Padgett beat with his shooting, but if he keeps up the rebounding, he won't get off the bench at all. I've said this about VSpan before and I'll say it again: I will take his performances with a grain of salt. He's never played with these guys before, let alone in the NBA. Turnovers will be the norm, let him get acclimated to the style first. If he's still like this by our sixth exhibition game, then I'll lose some hope in him.

Btw, good to see the backup guards step it up. That could be our forte this season.

The 3 point shooting was great. We shot 42.4% and went 14/33. It would have been even better if it weren't for Lucas' going 2/7. JVG needs to take back his comments and telling him to be more active offensively.

T-Mac had another one of his famous 4 pointers. However, his FT shooting still needs improvement. Ever since last season his FT shooting has been sub par.

Hayes had like 4 fouls in a span of 3 minutes! Crazy, I know. Lucas had 5 in 19.

All 4 of the DNPs (kelenna, jacobsen, haryazz, and bowen) should be cut for the team. Switch Kelenna/Jacobsen with an unhealthy Sura. That is if Sura doesn't retire. I don't think we would buyout his contract.

    Oh no,
Vspan only played 8 mins. in which he shot 0/2, had 2 fouls and 3 TOs.
8 mins? is JVG losing faith in him? He better not, because now im doubting he'll make the roster by looks of this playing time this game. I hope he does make it tho...

one of the reasons why TO's were so high last night was, because the officials were calling a lot of traveling on both ends of the floor.

Hm.. here's a few things I noticed in the game...

    1. Tmac needs to work on his FT's.
    2. V-Span needs to calm down and use some picks, instead of just trying to cross up his defender and pass him. He got some turnovers doing that. [IMG]
    3. Novak, gotta love his game. He understands his role very well, I saw some nice plays that were ran on the floor for Novak to get an open 3 point shot. And... guess what? He was draining them. He wasn't afraid to shoot. [IMG]
    4. Luther Head, still got his nice 3pt shot. [IMG]
    5. Kirk Snyder - He brings that attitude with him and drives in a lot. [IMG]
    6. Battier - Im not really feeling him in the games [IMG]
    7. Rafer - seems confident in running the team, improved his shooting. [IMG]
    8. Hayes - Too many fouls in a short time span. [IMG]

Uh, is it me or is the officiating even tougher this season?
