The beat the Nuggets in Mexico, looks like they really lapsed int he third quarter but came back with a big fourth and closed the game strong, that's very good to see. Still waiting on the stats to see who did what...
OK WOW what happened to the old warriors?!?!? i no this is only preseason but dang.. scoring 120+ in both games and also we were down by a few points in the 3 mins left in the fourth quarter. Cant wait till the season starts. Don nelson really does have magic. :-D
Box Score Baron with 18 pts and 7 assists in 26 minutes, 100% from the line (5/5). Dunleavy was solid with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Biedrins had 6 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks in 25 minutes. Ike only played 2:50 and Adonal once again did not play. Roberson had 28 points on 8/12 from the field, 3/4 from 3 and 9/10 from the line. And from the looks of things he seems like he could be a valuable shooter off the bench a la Luther Head even though we already have a ton of small guards.
Baron, JRich, Ellis, Wagner, Roberson...maybe throw in Pietrus as a SG...do we have the deepest backcourt in the NBA?
Don't get your hopes up guys. This is just the preseason. The Raiders went 4-0 in the preseason and in the regular season they are 0-4.
When I look at the preseason boxscores, I really hope that J-Rich will be the small forward and that Wagner-Ellis split the minutes on SG. Davis / Roberson (or McCleod) Ellis / Wagner J-Rich / Pietrus Dun / Ike /(Zarko) Troy / Biens / (POB) Then on the reserve list: Foyle, Taft and McLeod (or Roberson). So please cut Owens! What happened with Devin Brown? Why isn't he on the roster at NBA.com or ESPN? It seems that I missed that.
Owens won't play for us, the front office told him that so they are waiving him or trading him. Brown got cut.
can roberson pass good? we have so many good scorers. good thing that dajuan wagner gets a pretty good amount of assists. man im loving the warriors backcourt now :-D how long is patrick o'bryant gonna be out? i want to see him play.

Ike = 3 minutes??? Damn, if Nelson was just going to mess up Ike's development maybe we should have invested in Danny Granger or Gerald Green instead. Even if Green is rawer, less mentally in tune to the game, and has a half inch shorter index finger than Granger, I'd still take him in a run n' gun offense. Ike's going to waste maybe, unless slowing it down is to our advantage like against the Pistons or maybe a better running team than us. Roberson = 28 points? Man, this guy is hungry for a contract. 9/10 free throw shooting, 3 of 4 from downtown. Nice game. Team assist to turnover ratio could be better with practice.

Danny Granger would be nice on any team, but we have Diogu. Diogu is the potential low post scorer that you are always saying the Warriors need. This is what everyone says and is saying, that the Warriors need a low post threat. I am content with having Diogu. Nobody should be content with Diogu only getting 3 minutes in a preseason game though. I don't blame Nelson. You have to play the players who are understanding the game plan during practice, even if it is the preseason. There are a lot of people trying to make a spot on the roster, and more trying to make a spot on the active roster. Nelson's tactic for Diogu will benefit him more than hurt him, in my opinion. Diogu has to learn the system. If he's not getting the message by sitting on the bench during most of a preseason game, then something is wrong. But it should mostly help motivate Diogu to get with the system. Diogu has the skills, just maybe his learning curve is a little bit slow. At somepoint in the season, I can see Diogu and Nelson being on good terms and really helping each other and the team out, but that is after they get on the same page. Diogu seemed to be pretty good with the pass from the high post and he has a decent shot, which are things I believe Nelson wants in his post player. Maybe there is a slight chance that Diogu just never picks up the system, and then at that point his skills and talent may be a little tarnished because of Nelson's game plan. But I am not thinking that this chance is very high, I am definitley hoping that this chance doesn't exist at all. By the way, that is what I was thinking myself custodianrules2; why did Diogu only play 3 minutes? It is only my assumption that it is because Diogu isn't picking up the system, which was talked about in a recent news article I believe.
i think Nels knows full well that ike is a scoring machine in the paint, so i'm not sure what part of the system ike isn't grasping

Maybe 2-4 assists a night. Supposedly this guy has the whole package, but he's not tall enough or quick enough to be like AI or somebody. But he could be like a David Wesley (inside outside threat, but not a star and definitely not a point guard)

Maybe Nelson just wants the bigs to be a minor shooting/rebounding role rather than first option down in the blocks. Or maybe he doesn't want Ike to be the initiator in 3 out, 2 in motion offense with feeds running inside. Or Nelson doesn't want Ike as initiator in any Princeton type offense where the center/power forward control the ball at the top of the key and they find guys cutting off the ball. But damn, I want to see some physical down low play like Brand, Duncan, Randolph, Shareef etc. Guys who can play football and are good at basketball, I want those guys. quickness + power + finesse. I want the Michael Vicks of basketball that can play all kinds of positions.
<div class="quote_poster">DTKennedy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">i think Nels knows full well that ike is a scoring machine in the paint, so i'm not sure what part of the system ike isn't grasping</div> Maybe, it's the part where you have the guards shoot before the shotclock reaches 20. I like Nelson's style of attack with guards, but to balance things out we need an inside guy that is going to slow down the game for us in our favor. If we get tired, our guards will be useless. But if we are tired and we still have guys that can slow the pace and score high % points, those are the guys I want. Guys who are weak and can't score inside have to float around the perimeter. Guys who are smaller have to find someway to use speed in order to get in close. Without those elements, we're sort of playing low % ball a lot of times. Let's hope we're on more times than we are off.
