"Despite the win, the Jazz suffered a setback to their backcourt when starter Derek Fisher, who was acquired from Golden State via a trade, fell on his back and head on a layup attempt in the first quarter. Fisher was carried off the court and taken to a local hospital for X-rays."

I hope he's okay but man..probably one of those out of control plays he's been always doing costing us points when he was on our team

Man that sucks for Fisher. I guess Gordan Giriceck doesn't have him to worry about when it comes to hogging all the ill advised shots in the Jazz offense.

How about Brewer so far? He's looked pretty good in the steals department. He's got athleticism/an all around game, but now he needs to prove he can make difficult shots and also play consistently. Can't play like Bonzi or Qrich all the time. I'd also say Dunleavy, but I think Bonzi and Qrich are more effective when they are hot.

I like Brewer. He's pretty good and he's going to learn some good offensive discipline with Sloan, well, hopefully. If I were looking for a comparison, I'd say his (on-court) style kind of reminds me of young Stephen Jackson.

As for Fisher, he is getting up there in the years. His style doesn't really leave him open to injuries, but it's a bad stroke of luck for him.

Man, I would have picked Brewer in an instant during fantasy draft, but I know Sloan and his rookie allowed playing time. But maybe Brewer will be treated differently like Andre Kirilenko was. I mean who else could play the two guard now when there is Derek Fisher who is hurt and then Gordon Giricek isn't really all that great defensively or sharing the ball.

Brewer could at least be a true shooting guard (a mix of scorer and point guard).

If I don't have a superstar shooting guard on my hands, I'd rather have a guy like Manu Ginobilli or Reggie Miller or Dan Majerle or Joe Johnson. Maybe Brewer falls somewhere in between but leaning more on the defensive side.

Actually, the guy that might be money this year could be Brandon Roy. Pretty much a true prototype two guard at 6'5.

And it's tough to find tall shooting guards that are quick to create offense/defend, are smart, and can shoot (especially in the clutch).
