He knew the Knicks wouldn't get there with him healthy last season, but Houston believes that his presence on the floor and in the locker room would have been invaluable to young players such as Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, Nate Robinson, David Lee and Channing Frye. Last year, Larry Brown often bemoaned the lack of a veteran leader on the team. "I think it means something to young players to have a veteran with them who has been through tough situations before," Houston says. "I got that from Joe Dumars and Isiah Thomas when I played in Detroit. When I came to the Knicks I had John Starks, Patrick (Ewing) and Larry (Johnson) show me the way. "I don't know if it would have meant more wins or if it would have helped Coach Brown, but for me personally it was disappointing that I couldn't be out there."</div> Link
I hope he doesn't come back. If he does decide to, he'll make it as a bench player, someone whos been away from proffesional basketball for a few years, in his mid-late 30's, whos knees will eventually give up on him again. I'd love to see him play again, but as the old Allan Houston, and that one is long gone.
i really hope he doesn't come back again. i don't wanna see him make a fool of himself out there. he's remembered for his incredible jumpshot and heart, but i don't think he's gonna show much of either if he comes back.

I agree with P.A.P., it`s nice to hear about things like this, but teams would look at his injury riddled career and just brush him to the side. The guy doesn`t deserve that.

Magic's Grant Hill and Allan Houston in Orlando uniform would be interesting... Fans would see neither playing very much.

I'm sure Houston can still shoot the ball, but I can't imagine him being able to guard anyone with his injuries. He wouldn't be able to compete against the shooting guards or small forwards in the league.
