It was a good game. We won it thanks to that 3 by Luther Head 72-69.

    Here is the boxscore.
    http://www.nba.com/games/20061017/HOUDAL/b...=scoreboardhome

    -Yao played 23 min.
-T-Mac really needs to work on his FT shooting (1/5) along with the entire Rockets team who shot an abysmal 51.7%.
-Battier played 25 minutes and has almost nothing to show for it.
-Head quietely had a nice game. 4/10FG, 3/5 from the arc, still managed to get 13 points.
-V Span is beginning to look better. Only 2 turnovers, 4 assists, and 6 points in 20 min.
-Novak 12 points and 7 rebounds.

    Josh Howard was killing us.

Rockets need to work on their freethrows
Good and nice 3's by Novak. He hit a clutch one with 40 seconds left
Good game by Head and Vspan

    Rockets are 2-1

I am impressed with Luther Head and Steve Novak and Vspan

Vspan is the ball handler we need. It seems like he has calmed down.

After watching Luther play...Starting lineup will be as follows

    Yao
    Battier
    Tmac
    Luther Head
    Alston

    6th man: Bonzi Wells
    7th man: Steve Novak
    8th man: kirk snyder
    9:Vspan

That lineup might be good for certain matchups, but I think I'd prefer a big guard in the starting lineup like Snyder or Wells. Snyder has impressed me quite a bit the last two games. First game was pretty bad. But he seems to have calmed down. His size, athleticism, and ability to finish close to the basket will be a huge asset. Defense has been solid as well. Can he consistently hit the outside shot? If so, I think he has the best case for starting 2-guard. He does need to work on those free throws. A guy like him can get to the line very frequently, but he needs to convert.

Looking at the stats, Matt Haryasz had 5 rebounds in 9 minutes. Certainly makes the backup four/five situation even more competitive.

Just looking at the stats though, Novak was damn impressive.

VSpan looked good last night and seemed to be in control for the first time......Yao looked a little rusty, but it was his first game back so I'll forgive him...lol.

Vspan is beginning to look like hes more comfortable.

Novak got 7 rebs, which is not bad at all. Although i doubt he'll be able to grab that many on a consistent basis, his 7 rebs from this game shows he can get quite a bit in 20 mins.

Novak will probably average 2-4 rebounds reguloar season and anywhere from 8-10 points. He might be a better shooter than JJ redick
