Not only Mavs, team like Suns, Spurs, Rockets, Pistons etc. are a big threat to Miami. Its not like "Oh, Miami won a championship, they are unbeaten" Every team who wins a championship works hard at it. Its not like Miami is just gonna easily take the trophy. They are going to have to work at it against other teams. Miami is one of the best team and maybe the favorites to win, but they aren't going to get it easily. Other teams that I mentioned are big threats to the Heat.

In any game Miami plays in the playoffs: They'll have the best coach. They'll have the best player. They'll have the best Centers. They'll have the best offense. They'll have the best defense. They'll outrebound the other team. They'll outblock the other team. They'll outsmart the other team. They'll outplay the other team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll have the best defense. The only good defenders they have are Posey and Mourning...</div><font color=""Green"">Team defense</font>. So why didn't the Heat get owned by Dirk, Howard, Terry, Carter, Jefferson, Kidd, Rip, Chauncey, Tayshaun, Rasheed, Gordon, Hinrich, etc. Aren't those guys the same ones labled as All-Star and Superstar caliber players by y'all? Or is it because they were contained by the Heat's "poor defense" that they're not worthy of those titles anymore? The Heat have always been touted as a poor defensive man-to-man team, and all they did was play the best defense of any team. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll have the best offense. Why do you think so?</div>Well, on average, they outscored everyteam they played lol. Heat have like 6 players capable of posting up, lead the NBA in points in the paint and FG%. I don't know what else to say. Nobody can stop them from scoring, unless they foul to test their FT% rather then their league leading FG%. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll have the best Centers. True unless Yao keeps improving and they face the Rockets</div>Yao? Nah. Not against us atleast. Just another one of those beliefs the general fans and analysts love to place on us. Whatever makes you guys need to believe in order to feel more secure. It's the same things you guys were saying to yourself when they got Shaq then J-Will, Posey, and Walker. Remember those? "Shaq and Wade won't mix well cuz Wade can't shoot", "Shaq is old", "Wade is not Kobe", "Heat have no depth to contend after the Shaq trade", "Shaq and Wade will have problems" ... "J-Will Posey and Walker are cancers", "They're gonna have chemistry issues", "They'res not enough minutes to go around", etc. Whatever you guys need to believe in your minds that the Heat are not the real deal... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll outrebound the other team. Why do you think so?</div>It's not something I think, they've proven it. They did it througout the regular season (#1 in opponent differential, #1 in total rebounds per game) and they did it in the post season. They've been the best rebounding team since Riley took over. Nobody's gonna beat them on the boards. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the Finals Game 1 the announcers were saying something to the tune of "This is the first time Dallas has been outrebounded in these playoffs". <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll have the best coach. Arguable, some think that Gregg Popovich, Avery Johnson, Mike D'Antoni, etc. are better than Riley</div>Yeah, and there's some that think Kobe and LeBron are better than Wade, yet they don't actually produce nearly as many wins, have the high expectations that Wade does, or even begin to deliver on them. My point here is that peoples opinion's mean nada. But the facts mean A LOT: Riley is a legend/HOFer, he's what Phil Jackson is in the eye's of everyone and then some, cept without the respect that Phil gets. Riley's seen more than Pop has and was able to render that Dallas Smallball useless. Y'all remember what Smallball is right? Yup, that same Smallball brought the almighty Spurs to their knees. How is it that Smallball didn't bring a team starting J-Will, Walker at SF, and Shaq to their knees? Riley. Avery Johnson? I think we all saw the Finals. Avery got owned and he walked away from that series a better coach thanks to Riley. Mike D'Antoni? He'd be better off as an Assistant Coach where he can focus on his offense. When it comes to the game of Chess that coaching is, he's not in the upper echelon with Riley, Phil, Pop. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll outsmart the other team. Why do you think so?</div>After reading my other replies do you need me to go here? Anyways... Well, they're players are seasoned vets. Yeah, the same jokes you guys crack about being "old" is the same factors that pushed us over the top. There's nothing that the players and coaches haven't seen in the playoffs and know how to react accordingly. They're gonna test every team's basketball IQ, they've been in almost every in-game situation before, and they know how to execute in those situations and in big games. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 'kobimel":</div><div class="quote_post">They'll outplay the other team...Does that mean they're gonna win 98 games this season?</div>It's not even possible to play 98 games in the NBA playoffs. Did you read my post correctly? Probably not, but yeah, I stand by what I said, and I think the Heat rallying from a virtual 0-3 series deficit against Dallas to winning a championship is all that needs to be said, really. Not like there's much argument against that.
<div class="quote_poster">Heat4Life Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">In any game Miami plays in the playoffs: They'll have the best offense.</div> Phoenix Suns ?
I think you guys are underestimating Detroit for this season. This may be a bit of a bold statement, but I honestly think this is the strongest team we've had in recent years, I think the loss of Big Ben will only strengthen us, much in the way losing to SA in the finals bolstered us for 64 wins last season.
