Expected... The following players have the possibility of being cut: Ryan Bowen Bob Sura Scott Padgett Casey Jacobsen Kelenna Azabuike 3 of these guys will be cut. I see Casey Jacobsen, Ryan Bowen, Kelenna Azabuike gone.

It seems to me that RyBo will be cut and there's a good chance that Padgett will fill his spot. We have too many guards on the team for Jacobsen or Azubuike to avail the would be vacant spot unless Sura is also bought out and released.
I liked Haryasz and wish we could've kept him. He's 6'11 athletic, and very active. I was hopin we'd cut Chuck Hayes and kept this guy, but Van Gundy is gonna be Van Gundy

What was it about Haryasz that got him cut? Rudimentary offense, not enough muscle in the post? I only ask because I had questions about his ability to translate his solid play in college to the pros, and want to know exactly what it was he did badly enough to get cut. Thanks in advance for any input

Thanks in advance for any input </div> He played pretty well in his last game on the court against the Mavericks. He would have been behind Juwan, Chuck, and Mutombo in the depth chart. Van Gundy has some much tougher choices to make else where, so he decided to let him go. I think he can be a decent backup player on an NBA team. He played very well in Summer League, and showed some good things the above game mentioned.
Haryasz game is better suited for Euro basketball. Sounds like he was mixing it up on the inside, but in college he shyed away from contact and always drifted out on the perimeter. He couldn't hold position in the post, and would get pinned under the backboard to neutralize his shotblocking. He's one of those players who just doesn't excel at any one thing and everything he does is average.
