Recap <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Lamar Odom put the Los Angeles Lakers on his shoulders in the absence of superstar teammate Kobe Bryant. Odom was one assist shy of a triple-double and Maurice Evans pumped in 27 points to lead the Lakers to a 113-106 victory over the New Orleans Hornets. Odom scored 17 points to go with 10 rebounds and nine assists to help Los Angeles snap a three-game preseason losing streak. The eighth-year forward had to take on an increased offensive role without Bryant, the NBA's leader in scoring last season. Bryant is still recovering from offseason knee surgery and there is still no timetable for his return. Odom was 7-of-13 from the field and was part of a 14-2 run with 3:49 remaining in the second period that pushed the Lakers' lead to 60-46 at halftime. Los Angeles shot 54 percent (43-of-80) and was led by Evans, who was 11-of-18. Jordan Farmar, Luke Walton and Brian Cook each added 12 points for the Lakers, who are also without Kwame Brown, Chris Mihm and Vladimir Radmanovic. The Hornets shot 49 percent (39-of-80) and were by Bobby Jackson, who had 22 points off the bench. David West had 18 points and seven rebounds while Chris Paul handed out nine assists for New Orleans, which has lost four in a row. </div> Link
We literally kicked New Orleans butt last night. The Lakers were just too, big on the inside for the Hornets to match up with. The Lakers defense clogged the lanes and forced the Hornets to win from the perimeter. The only time the Hornets had us on our heels was when Bobby Jackson came in the game and played shooting guard. The Lakers didn't have the team speed to stay in front of him, but they went right back at Jackson on the defensive end. Mo Evans was a beast tonight for the Lakers. He checked Peja well, and was on fire from the field. If he can come in games at shoot with that level of confidence, we can rest Kobe a lot more and save him for the post season.
Great Pickup!!!! Just wanted to add to that I'm actually excited about the Laker's lineup this season compared to the last couple in both the starting line and the backups, should be interesting.
Evans is going to take a load off of Kobe. I'd like to see Kobe in for 30 to 35 minutes instead of going the entire game.. A fresher Kobe, means a better Kobe!!!!
Thanks shape. Nice to see your payin attention to them! haha.... Just wait till I come up with the ideas for the new headers. It going to take time to design, but should be well worth it!!
