<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A year ago, Kyle Korver blanched at the idea of coming off the bench. He said he was a starter and didn’t want that to charge.

This fall, Korver is singing a different tune.

“I really like it,” said Korver of his reserve role. “I don’t even want to start anymore. I don’t want to get into all that again. I want to play. I’m not saying I don’t want to play as much — I want to play a lot — but I couldn’t care less if I start.

“I know when I come in the games, he (coach Maurice Cheeks is) going to run things for me.”

Now the 76ers’ first forward off the bench, Korver had scored in double figures during the first four preseason games until he managed seven on 3-for-10 shooting in 19 minutes during Friday’s 102-92 loss to the Nets at Continental Airlines Arena.

    Walsh trying to get noticed

Matt Walsh, a Germantown Academy graduate, is taking his best shot at making the New Jersey roster as a guard/forward.

The numbers don’t appear to be in the 6-foot-6 Walsh’s favor. New Jersey has 15 guaranteed contracts — and that’s not counting Jay Williams, who has a partial guarantee. Teams may carry a maximum of 15 players.

Wearing No. 40, Walsh, who has a non-guaranteed deal worth the second-year minimum of $664,000, contributed three points, three assists and two rebounds in 10 minutes Friday against the Sixers, giving him 18 points on 5-for-15 shooting and 20 rebounds in 59 minutes during five preseason games.

Korver's role is better suited as a 6th man, he can provide us with more 3pt shooting off the bench, the starting lineup should actually look like this:

    C- Dalembert
    PF- Webber
    SF- Carney
    SG- Iguodala
    PG- Iverson

    With Korver off the bench.

You got good defenders in there with Dalembert, Carney, and Iguodala..then just bring in Korver to provide some instant offense.

Iverson isn't really a defense oriented player on the Sixers, that's why I didn't include him.

Exactly. I like the sound of that lineup too.
